Sneak Peek Gender Test

I can't really see it on here so I just wanted to make a thread on the sneak peak tests, how they work and my honest review on it.

I ordered it on Sunday and it arrived Monday I was actually quite impressed with the delivery time, when you order it, it's actually delivered by Amazon so it's fast delivery! Great!

I washed my hands thoroughly with warm water and soap using a nail brush, I sanitised the area I was going to be using and kept hand sanitiser near where I was going to be doing the test,

I opened the box and read the instructions, registered my test on the website to make sure I get my results back.

I put the tube into the holder so it was easier to get the blood in the tube, i sanitised my hands again. I put the tourniquet on my arm and I wiggled my fingers and did finger crunches to get the blood flowing to my finger. I then used the finger pricker thing (sorry not sure the technical name lol) to prick the top of my finger, all the videos I watched everyone pricked the side flat bit of their finger but realistically you probably want to prick right at the top to get the best blood flow, so i pricked my middle finger (instructions say middle or ring finger) and it hurt.... maybe I'm dramatic... but it hurt, no way on earth is it "a small prick" it hurttt, not to scare anyone everyone's different but it was more than a needle poke and my finger is now bruised which I didn't know was a thing lol I was so annoyed but was on a mission 😂

I squeezed my finger to get the blood in the tube, it took about 40 seconds to get all the correct amount of blood in you fill it to the 5ml line, it took about 4-5 drops of blood (this will vary for everyone) when I closed the tube, cleaned my hands as there was blood all over my hands and in my fingernails (ew I know) then I shook the tube, put it inside the plastic bag with the bandage, put that inside the other clear plastic bag, then popped it inside the box the needle thingies came in, they send you a prepaid envelope to send it off so I popped it in there and took it to the post office.

So far I've only just sent it off and I took it to the post office after the last collection time so it will probably be picked up and delivered by wed/thurs to the England site, they then send it to California for testing, from it being delivered to the testing place it's supposed to be a 4-6 hour wait and you should receive your result through email or I think you can opt to do it through text. As I've only just sent it off I will update everyone on the results if anyone's interested and I will also update everyone at 16 weeks when I go for a gender scan to test if the blood test is correct!

(I really only recommend you do these kits for fun, if the test kit gets even slightly contaminated by male DNA it can completely change the result and give you the wrong gender, if you want an accurate result wait for a 16-20 week scan to confirm the gender, Sneek Peek say if their result was incorrect you are entitled to a full refund after the baby is born when they are presented with a birth certificate, so it can be a bit of fun but don't take it too seriously lol)

My daughter tried one of these for her 2nd pregnancy.
It gave the wrong result.

However she isn't certain it was the tests fault, as her DH was wandering around looking what she was doing 😆

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 18/04/2023 07:56

@OnMyJourney how pregnant are you at the moment? X

PickledScrump · 18/04/2023 08:35

I’ve seen so many people get wrong results from these and they refuse a refund claiming user error. I looked at them as impatient 😂

I done a sneak peek test with baby no.2 and was correct for me- boy. Although going by reviews Iv read if you get a girl result it’s almost certainly correct but a boy result could be caused by male contaminated DNA- even male dogs apparently! Still fun though lol, Let us know results when there in! Xx

violetskypurple · 18/04/2023 19:38

I've read really awful things about them especially on TrustPilot

violetskypurple · 18/04/2023 19:38

uk.trustpilot.com/review/sneakpeektest.com

thatsn0tmyname · 18/04/2023 19:43

I've never heard of these tests but they'll be 50% correct. I only came on to say 'sex', not 'gender'. Please let us know if it's correct.

UpUpUpU · 18/04/2023 19:46

What a waste of money. Seems impossible from 6 weeks too as NIPT only gets offered from 10 weeks

thatsn0tmyname · 18/04/2023 19:47

OMG, they're £89! Their website endorses Dr credentials and they don't know the difference between sex and gender.

OnMyJourney · 03/05/2023 11:28

Okay so I finally got the results back,

I must say, it took way longer than advertised and their customer service is literally non existent! I actually did a dispute through my bank cause they were late sending me the results and no contact, the day after I get my money from the bank... they send me my results 🙄

Anyways! I opened the email to find out that it's detected that I will be having a baby girl!

I would be over the moon with a girl, I always wanted a girl first, I am a very girly person but I would also be over the moon with a boy! I'm not fussy I would like one of each but I'll be so excited if it's correct and I'm having a girl!

I did read girl results are more accurate than if you were to get a boy result but I'm still not fully trusting it until I have my scan in 6 weeks time, I will follow up for anyone that's interested to let you know if it's correct 😊

@OnMyJourney was it correct? I’ve just ordered this x

OnMyJourney · 23/06/2023 07:13

@Daisydoo12345 I'm so sorry i forgot to update!

So my sneak peek test came back as a girl! We then went for our early gender scan at 16 weeks which also was a girl and the midwife said baby's heart rate matched up with a girl! So overall I think mine was personally correct, if I get to 20 weeks and they tell me it's a boy I'll be shocked lol.

Just because mine was right I'm not expecting it would be right for everyone but Daisydoo my advice for you is to wash your hands very thoroughly with a good soap, clean down your space you'll be doing it in thoroughly with a disinfectant, wash your hands again using the nail brush and then set up your area and do the test, I
kept a big bottle of hand sanitiser with me so I cleaned my hands after touching something new. And make sure to keep any males away from you, even male dogs DNA can change the result!

Good luck I hope you get the right result 😊

Ok thank you. With a house full of boys it may be difficult 🙈 x

BBno4 · 27/08/2023 19:06

Was the other scan a girl too

OnMyJourney · 28/08/2023 07:35

@BBno4

All of my scans have said girl, we had the sneak peak, 16 week scan, 20 week scan, my 4D scan and growth scan all confirm she's a girl 🥰

I did a sneakpeek test and got the results 2 days ago I have to admit I was gutted when it said boy as I've 3 boys already and 1 girl don't get me wrong I love them all dearly and my boys are a lot easier than my daughter she's 20 this year and I thought just maybe this time I'll get a girl but I knew before I read the email it would likely say boy however I'm not really %100 sure if to trust it as ive just seen how easily contaminated they are by male DNA and my 4 year old had been playing eith my phone and i didnt even think before i touched it and my blood all my fingers and touching my phone im worried ive actually mucked it up and its been contaminated as i said ive a house full of boys. It probably is another boy but I'm going to get a gender scan in march to double check it's deffo a boy because if it says girl after my results said boy I think I will probably be shocked as I'm getting used to having another boy in the house I actually regret doing this test cos i feel a lot of people are setting themselves up for disappointment

InnermostHealthcare · 13/01/2024 01:41

It may be worth having a venous blood sample taken for testing rather than a fingerprick test.

LoopyLoo32 · 13/01/2024 11:00

I did think about getting it done at a clinic as it's likely to be more accurate think it's £189 for the test and scan at abc4d I'll give them a ring on Monday and get an app with them that way it's likely to give me a more definitive result then a gender scan at 17 weeks to confirm the result I'll be honest I wouldn't recommend these at home finger prick tests they r a nightmare to do and i struggled to get the blood to fill the vial plus £89 is a lot of money especially if it's incorrect result thank you so much for your comment I'll update when I've had my test xx

OnMyJourney · 13/01/2024 14:30

I think if you have the money and want to do it then go for it! I only did the sneak peak thing as a bit of fun, although it did turn out to be correct (their customer service is absolutely dreadful though) but I'm pretty sure if the gender is incorrect they'll refund you once you send proof of the birth certificate showing the gender x

Hi I really appreciate Ur reply I'm 9 weeks tomorrow I never done this test with my other 4 pregnancies my last baby will be 5 in April and my oldest kids r 19 16 n 14 I had a gender scan with my last baby but I had to pay as our NHS hospital doesn't tell gender my oldest and only daughter I knew I was having a girl but my older 2 boys I didn't know I'd like a girl just to even things out but I'm happy either way as long as baby is healthy. It probably is another boy I'm having I've just a feeling lol xx

AmpleOpalCat · 04/12/2025 18:28

Thank you for the detailed message on how to do it! This is very very useful. I got my sneakpeek as well and will be doing it tomorrow and searching everywhere about how to do it the best!

Just found this post and your follow-up posts, and was so intrigued by how you recount your experience doing lancet test for sneakpeek. Glad you've confirmed your baby girl in all tests. I also took the test when I was 8w5d, though I used the snap test, and it was also correct for me. I just gave birth to my baby girl also! :)
