Red cell antibodies in pregnancy

Hi, I am almost 14 wks pregnant with my second child. First pregnancy was straight forward and plain sailing. I have recently been told that I have red cell antibodies present in my blood and I wondered if anyone has any experience of this? My midwife has never heard of it and is trying to find out more for me. Wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Thank you.

Hi OP 🌼

I'm 10 weeks, and my bloods came back that I have a teeny tiny trace of antibodies in my blood. I'm O Negative. They also found a trace of Anti D in my blood too.

I've been told not to worry at all as my result didn't even come back with a number against it as it was so low. It was just that they picked up such a small trace. They have to tell you.

DH is having a blood test as well to see if he has the same anti bodies as me.
I need a blood test every 4 weeks now.

My midwife did suggest it could have something to do with the covid vaccine as shes seen a few people recently with the same thing.

Have you heard anything further?
