Pregnancy of unknown location

Hi everyone
I have had an absolute rollercoaster of a week.
Had five positive tests last week, started faint then tested 3 days later with a digital that was positive and a first response, then followed up with another digital 2 days after that, all positive. Period late by at least 2 weeks.
I started to have some cramps in my tummy and a lot of trapped wind, my boobs ballooned and were sore and painful, and I felt like “something” was different and going on in my body.
I had some light spotting which I didn’t think anything of as I have read it’s really common and normal. I then had a bigger bleed all of a sudden at once which made me panic, then it went back to lighter bleeding/spotting then a few days later another bigger bleed all of a sudden then back to light. My boobs have gone back to normal and are no longer enlarged or sore.
I went for a private scan this morning and they said it is a pregnancy of unknown location, they cannot see anything. I am 6 weeks 3 days. I had never heard of this term before now, but we are taking it as it’s over - not meant to be this time.
But I did wonder if anyone else has any experience of this? Thank you

Hi- sorry you’re going through this. I had a PUL in October. Slightly different to you but I faint positives 9-12 DPO but then had a “period” at 14DPO so didn’t test further. I then felt off the week later like I was ovulating, tested and was a BFP. I attended EPU regularly and had my HCG levels monitored. They weren’t as high as expected or doubling. On the scan they could not see anything but my tubes were clear but as HCG was rising we discussed methotrexate. I was starting to become quite unwell. But HCG levels started dropping naturally. I had my period/miscarried 3 weeks from 1st meeting with EPU. Look after yourself, it’s a confusing and worrying time x

Not me but close friend had this term used, and it turned out to be ectopic. So personally I'd be watching for some warnings signs as it can be really serious.

However, I had a scan at 5 weeks and another at 7 weeks. At 5 weeks there was nothing visible, at 7 weeks there was a heartbeat.

@MrsOnions0 im so sorry to hear you have been though that. How are you doing now?
It is extremely confusing. I have done a test this morning as the advised me to, but it is now negative which I am just so confused about. I had the symptoms start to build up and the positive tests, now it’s just gone. I almost feel like I have made the whole thing up! X

@CornishGem1975 thank you. They checked everywhere else and said there was no sign of it growing in the wrong place. I have now had a negative test, so I am just full of confusion at the moment. I will definitely not get too ahead of myself in future if it happens again after a positive test as I can understand now that it is in no way a definite confirmation that everything will go smoothly each time. X
