Labour? 2nd child

with my first child my waters broke before any contractions so I knew I was in labour. However this time… I’m 37+2 and for the past few weeks I’ve been having diarrhoea on and off with extremely painful cramps. I don’t know if this is a bug or what? However the past 2 days I’ve been having extremely bad cramps on and off with bad diarrhoea and sickness and I have no clue whether this is the beginning of labour or if it’s something else! I don’t want to go to the hospital to get sent back home again if it’s just a bug! Advice? (Obviously I will get checked if it gets worse. I also had a midwife appointment in 2 days anyway)

FTM here so really can’t help advise but I’m going through similar minus the sickness. Every night when I’m in bed I’m getting strong period pains as baby moves a lot. They go away by the time I’m falling asleep. Tonight though they woke me at midnight and have been on and off but quite spaced out (30-60 mins). I’m also having intense lightening crotch when I lie in a certain position.

i am 41+3 so really hoping that something is kicking off and I can avoid induction!

@Anon1324 how are you getting on!

I also had this with my second, minus the sickness, although I was 4 weeks early. I spent two days trying to convince myself the cramps were a bug/Braxton hicks until things suddenly started moving very quickly. I'd advise getting checked asap to be on the safe side - no one will mind and it's definitely better safe than sorry. Either way, really hope you feel better soon Flowers
