Transverse - so uncomfortable!

I’m 36 weeks with a transverse baby and so so so uncomfortable- there’s obviously not really space for a baby this big to be sideways. Every time they wiggle I get jabbed by a head in one side and feet in the other.

Anyone else in a similar boat and want to whinge?

Oh good that sounds awful - I completely sympathise!

Is there anything you can do to try and make the baby shift position?

How did you get on? I'm currently 32+6 in that same position 😅

I’m currently feeding my 13 week old formerly-transverse baby!

She arrived at 38 weeks by planned CS, after I’d spent a week in hospital. I think that’s normal with transverse babies as they want you close by in case they come early.

It never got any more comfortable, but the birth was great and it’s all worth it now she’s here.

Good luck!

That's so lovely to hear😊

Thanks!

Both of mine were transverse. One turned at 36+1 the other 36+6(the day before I has an appointment to arrange c section)

I knew they had turned as I had horrific projectile vomiting as they pushed their feet against my stomach to turn.

The relief after they turned was amazing until the head settled low in my pelvis.

Mine were both transverse! I kept doing exercises to get them to turn but they kept going back 😆 I was having planned sections anyway but they would have been needed for this reason if not.
So uncomfortable though, you have my sympathy!

Oops just seen update, congrats 😊

LunaLoveFood · 04/08/2023 21:27

I did have small babies 5.5lbs and 6.4lbs so they did have a little wiggle room to turn.

Oops just saw the update! Congratulations!

I can feel your pain. I'm 36 weeks and baby although head down is posterior and was like this since I remember them checking. Initially was moving spine on different sides of my belly but now looks like it's fully sunny side up, poking me with joints every possible direction at once😬. I'm planned for natural delievery but I know it can get more difficult if baby stays this way. Still have couple of growth scans to attend and then possible induction at 39 weeks if doesn't happen on its own earlier. Just worried I may end up with C-section😔
