Contractions?

Hiya,

I’m 36+6 and have started with low down period type pains and very low down backache, as well as a tight band of pain around the top of my uterus so above my belly button. It has been coming and going and getting more and more noticeable all evening but I haven’t lost any noticeable mucus plug and my waters don’t appear to have broken. I haven’t had any significant pain at all before today, just braxton hicks tightenings which last a very short time. Could it be labour beginning? Or am I being too hopeful 😂 and if it IS v early labour, should I call the hospital?

I'm 39 weeks been having this since 37 weeksish :( think it's body preparing ! If they get more intense then call them xx

It could be, but a sure sign is when you lose your mucus plug! So that would be when I'd call the hospital. But if the tightening gets regular and more intense and closer together that's when you'll knoe you're beginning the first phase of labour.

I've been having this for about a week and I'm 37+3 now but it's not developed into anything!

in the same boat as it’s completely gone away. I’ve had some problems with my blood pressure this morning though which may be what was causing it for me - not sure though.
