Leggings??

somuchtolearnabout · 13/04/2023 06:49

Has anyone found any non maternity leggings that are actually stretchy enough and comfortable during pregnancy? I have a load of sweaty Betty leggings which claim they can be worn during pregnancy, I've not been able to wear them since about 18 weeks as they just dig in. I don't mind maternity leggings but would rather something I can wear post partum as well.

Bonus points if they're a "workout" maternity rather than jersey

Thanks

Following as I will be on the look out for maternity workout leggings 😊

Poppymil · 13/04/2023 07:28

I found Morrisons and Asda leggings were great when I was pregnant. I tried a few maternity leggings but they were all really baggy on the legs!

Porridgeislife · 13/04/2023 07:29

Lululemon Align leggings. I lived in them & they snap back to pre pregnancy shape once you’ve given birth.

wornoutslippers · 13/04/2023 07:34

You will be able to wear maternity leggings post partum - that bump doesn't disappear overnight after delivery, and you'll be great full for loose comfy clothing.

Just buy a cheap two pack from ASOS or something to see you through.

Following - I'm a Sweaty Betty fan and bought a couple of pairs two sizes up thinking I could wear them during the second trimester . . . nope, they're so uncomfortable Sad

ChloeN · 13/04/2023 07:36

@somuchtolearnabout Adanola! They were my fave leggings before pregnancy, I’m still wearing my size small at 24 weeks and they’re not too tight at all xx

missally · 13/04/2023 07:49

Adanola Ultimate leggings!

kingfisher168 · 13/04/2023 07:49

Yes! I got a couple of leggings from Costco (of all places). They are amazing, stretchy, sports-like fabric but still very soft. They have about a 10cm band on the stomach so comfortable so far (though I'm only 15 weeks). I wear them all the time.

I actually think it's these:

Definitely Lululemon Align. My bump is massive and they still fit and are comfortable, bought them one up from my normal size

somuchtolearnabout · 13/04/2023 09:48

@wornoutslippers this is baby #3 for me so yes you're def right that you don't snap back immediately, but all the maternity leggings I've found have a very obviously maternity band and after a few weeks PP it just looks a bit silly on me.

I have heard this about lulu lemon align leggings @Whentwobecomesthree @Porridgeislife - but wasn't sure if it was true, as it def isn't with the sweaty Betty ones. I'm going to take punt and trust you and order a few pairs, I'll report back for others wanting to know too. Just my normal size you think?

Oh heyyy @ChloeN !!! Fancy seeing you here 🙃🙃 my Adanola ones are too tight! They're XS though, maybe I'll try size small cos they're my favourite leggings. Have you see the cross front ones? I've been eyeing those up and might try those as they're normally slightly more stretchy. I'll let you know!

@somuchtolearnabout Ive got a pair of medium as well and they fit the same so I don’t know if I’ve just mega stretched the small ones🤣🤣 No I haven’t tried them just the normal band ones!! Let me know what they’re like xx

I got some Love Leggings maternity ones and they're they more comfy leggings I've ever worn! Still wear them now 😂 got mine on Vinted but not sure how much they are full price!

SpringIsBloom · 13/04/2023 10:33

I second the Lululemon Align leggings. I am 37 weeks and put on close to 3 stone, these pre pregnancy leggings fit so much better and so much comfortable/better quality than any maternity/fast fashion leggings I have bought.

aSofaNearYou · 13/04/2023 10:46

Not what you asked I know but I'm still wearing my maternity leggings 7 months on, it's hard to go back once you realise how much more comfortable they are!

Whentwobecomesthree · 13/04/2023 10:56

@somuchtolearnabout I think I went a size up but I put on quite a bit of weight in the first trimester so was managing my own expectations of what would fit my normal body!

Also if you want cheap maternity leggings. Love Leggings all the way.

thehappyhaggis · 13/04/2023 10:57

I had the same problem when I was pregnant and a friend recommended river island leggings. I went up a size and honestly swear by them! I wore them right up until the birth. The high waist sat easily above my bump!

Yes I was coming here to say the Jezebel leggings!! They're SO comfy, I literally live in them and I am 38 weeks.

I've also heard amazing things about Love Leggings.

You will happily be in maternity leggings for months after though lol they just come up your belly higher and are annoyingly.veey comfy and give you a false sense of self 😂

RichardHeed · 13/04/2023 11:22

ASOS maternity leggings don’t have a “band” they’re just normal leggings with a bit extra room. Still wearing mine and dd is nearly 2 but that says more about me than I’d like 😭

coelocanthe · 13/04/2023 12:03

Try a brand called Prism. Their leggings and biker shorts are designed to be one size from XS to XL. I just got some shorts and they are great.

This! I have Love Leggings and now find regular legging uncomfortable 😂

Another vote for the love leggings.

I've heard that these leggings are lulu lemon align dupes - recommended by someone who wore them right through her pregnancy.

Massive choice of leggings at shein. I dont like wearing cotton type leggings too, only sport stretchy type as they don't loose shape and fit better. Normally go for full length or below knee. I got 6 pairs from Shein and absolutely love them. At this point 20 weeks pregnant I definitely prefer over the belly models. However right now I'm wearing maternity leggings which are high waisted with envelope like shape in front, also super comfy and you can easily wear them after birth. All leggings I bought on Shein wash well, are very comfortable and fit well. Sising is also good, I'm mostly in small, have couple of medium ones with even more stretch to grow into, you get measurements on site, lots of reviews with photos so it's easy to make up your mind. Plus they don't cost an arm and leg. Normally I wear Adidas, Nike and under armour but they don't fit anymore and buying bigger size is not an answer as they would be to baggy on my legs, fall off my ass lol.

somuchtolearnabout · 13/04/2023 14:07

I have a few pairs of the maternity Love Leggings and whilst they are super comfortable, the jersey material wouldn't be my first choice. Also with every single pair I own, the stitching has come apart at the waistband - has that happened to anyone else or am I clearly doing something weird with my leggings 😂
