Spotting in first trimester and work?

WWYD? I have had spotting on and off during this pregnancy since 6 weeks, I will be 9 weeks tomorrow. Had a positive scan at EPU today and they said unless the spotting persists for another 2 weeks or gets heavier then they hope not to see me again.
I was meant to ask whether I should take some time off work, or if I’m ok to continue as normal but I forgot.
I haven’t had my first midwife appointment yet and I’m due back at work on Monday, so can’t see my appointment being before the to ask for advice.
So what would you do?
For context, I am a teacher, so I have quite a busy job and have set times where I can visit the bathroom to check on the spotting (which I do multiple times a day while I’ve been home over Easter break.)
Not sure if I’m being dramatic even considering taking time off, or if I have a valid reason to take a bit of extra time.

After a positive scan at 9 weeks it's very likely you're just a spotter and even if not, taking time off won't make any difference at all to the outcome. So if you feel well, I would work.

Best of luck OP, it's a worrying time!

It really is! I had nothing like this in my 2 previous pregnancies, so it has really sent my head into a spin!

I do feel well most of the day, I seem to have evening sickness, which actually fits in quite well with work.

I am going to rest up these last few days and probably go into work, maybe being busy will take my mind off the worry.

Omg this is me!!! First 2 pregnancies no spotting this one constant and evening sickness too.
All of it has had me so panicked. I have my EPU scan tomorrow.
How are you feeling now

LoisLane23 · 16/05/2023 18:20

I had this with my second? I was also well over 40 so panicked. The spotting was on and off for 10 days. I had been on 4 short haul flights for work, so took myself to A&E, I
Also otherwise felt well. A scan showed everything was fine but I got signed off for a week by the midwife which was unexpected. After that week off resting the spotting stopped. To be honest I think I was just over doing it! Had an otherwise healthy pregnancy but was more cautious after that. Baby delivered fine and healthy! Good luck!

@Yelyahbub3 I had my dating scan today and everything was great! I haven’t had any spotting for a while, I did push through and carry on going to work and I’m feeling much more positive after the scan today.

@LoisLane23 Glad to hear everything worked out for you!

I spotted everyday from my positive test to about 9 or 10 weeks. Also a teacher! I don’t think resting does anything to slow or fasten the spotting
