Drank from dirty cup. Listeriosis?? 😭

Hello everyone,

Accidentally drank from my husbands old glass with water from yesterday. He had it with dinner and after I drank out of it just now I could se small bits of our pulled pork, now dried on the rim that we had for dinner (yuck🤮)

Is it possible to get listeriosis from the meat this way? Super anxious about it already. Can’t believe I’m this clumsy.

If your anxiety levels are this high I would really recommend speaking to your midwife as you may need extra support during pregnancy or after birth. You are fine, try to relax.

Listeria bacteria, if your pork was contaminated with it (which is highly unlikely), are killed by cooking. Ingesting a microscopic bit of the meat the next day in some water is extremely unlikely to give you any problems. I agree with @PickledScrump , if you’re getting this anxious about nothing you should maybe speak to your midwife before it gets out of hand. You don’t want to spend your pregnancy worrying and panicking about everything.
