1cm dilated sweep? Any chance?

I had a sweep today and MW said I'm about 1cm dilated at the moment. I'm 40 +2.

Please share any success/or not stories if you were at a similar stage?

I've had mild cramping since and baby has been a bit more active than usual but that's it! It's my second baby.

I had 2 and neither worked 🙈 my friends worked first time!

Best of luck. Hopefully you'll have baby soon x

I had one at 39+6 and I was 1cm dilated. Labour started about 30hrs later so I’d say it was unrelated to the sweep. However I was chatting with my DM yesterday and she said she went into labour with me on the way home from hospital where she had just had the sweep. It’s really hard to know how effective they are as anyone who has one is due/nearly due/overdue so would likely go into labour at any point anyway. Second pregnancy and I have an appt this week at 39+5 and currently debating whether I will have one if it is offered or just pass.

I had one prior to my due date (only 3days) as my son had been breach and they didn't want to risk him turning back again after a successful ECV. It was my second pregnancy. I was 2cm dilated when it was done at 5pm. Waters broke at 7pm, full labour by 9pm and he was born at 1am. Good luck x
