So I’m 16+5 with baby number 2. Got an anterior placenta this time and I am panicking that I haven’t felt anything yet not even a flutter or anything!

had a scan two weeks ago and that was fine and got another private one booked for this weekend to make sure he’s ok as I am panicking!

when did everyone feel baby with an anterior placenta? Also I’m getting a lot of cramps, they aren’t bad at all no where near like a period cramp but just uncomfortable enough to know it’s happening if that makes sense. I’m guessing/hoping cramps are normal? It’s not on my wife’s ad I’ve seen on google it’s exactly where my period cramps are

I didn't feel anything until 24/25 weeks.

About 19-20 weeks for me.

WorriedMum13 · 11/04/2023 15:12

I was around 19 weeks x

Some fluttery feelings from about 18 weeks then big kicks from 21 xx

fairgame84 · 11/04/2023 15:19

18 weeks with #2.

I had rolling sensations from around 18 weeks and little kicks from just after 19 weeks. I’m 20 weeks now and still don’t feel baby everyday, if they’re in a certain position I’ll feel loads of kicks but can go days with nothing.

16 weeks is the earliest you’ll feel movement, but it can take up to 24 weeks to feel movement. I wouldn’t worry yet

Same as others
placenta made no difference for me
and she was really active throughout the whole pregnancy

I was about 21 weeks, never got any flutters just went straight to feeling full on kicks that I could see on the outside too. Tended to feel more on the sides too because of the anterior placenta.
I know it’s really hard (I felt exactly the same as you) but try not to worry too much it’s totally normal. I’m 25 weeks now and feeling a lot of movement

24/25 weeks both times for me

Second anterior placenta here and started feeling really gentle kicks down low at around 18 weeks but only once or twice a day. Now (20+3) I feel them for a longer period of time and they are obviously kicks. I didn’t feel flutters with either of my babies with anterior placentas.

The midwife told me it can be up to 24 weeks to feel anything with an anterior placenta however many babies you’ve had.
