Maternity belly support bands - any good?

I am only 25 weeks PG and already am struggling to cope with my (twin) bump. I look about 8 months PG!

I have pain at the top of the bump which is apparently the ligaments straining under the weight (says MW). Are maternity support bands any good? Which are the best/cheapest option?

Get a referral to your local hosp's physio dept and ask them to give you a support band - I had dreadful backache with my twin pregnancy and this helped me soooo much, I even slept in it. Don't waste your money on ones taht are available in the shops they are not hardcore enough to help much (that was what I found anyway). The thing you need is VERY unglamorous looking, basically like a surgical stocking affair that goes from your hips right over your bump. My physio cut one for me really long so it could fold back on itself and be double strength.

Thanks! Will ring the midwives now and see if I can be referred.
