32 weeks and baby still transverse, anything I should be doing?

I'm 32 weeks pg with my third pg and baby is still transverse, has been for weeks! I'm just beginning to worry a little as I've not felt the baby turn out of this position throughout the pregnancy, I think she may have done once but not even for 48 hours and that was about 6 weeks ago!
At my last mw appointment she said if the baby hadn't moved by the next appointment (in 3 weeks time) she would refer me to the hospital to see if they could turn manually...
ds1 turned like a catherine wheel the whole time, ds2 was head down the whole time and didn't move...
Does anyone have any tips on what I should be doing?!
tia!

thanks jellies, I've been looking for my birthing ball... been sitting on chairs backwards in the meantime hoping it would have some effect, nothing so far!

I can't remember the other tricks except long walks.. Hope it turns soon!

I'm planning on sending dp into the understairs cupboard to look for the other one! I can guarantee that it wont turn up though til we buy a new one!

ds was traverse til about 34 weeks and right up to the end spent a lot of time with his feet sticking out of my right side. Poor little fella had a squashed little toe from poking it in my side for so long

shoppingbags - did you do anything to persuade your ds to move or did he do it of his own accord?

just buy another one! my dh bought me one then the other one and crucially the plug thing for it turned up before i had even unpacked the new one, so i could return it for a refund.

Im 34 weeks, baby tranverse still, midwife hasnt said anything about it yet but i keep trying to do the optimal positioning stuff but i just want to sit on sofa.

Don't let them turn her manually without gas and air!!!! IT HURTS a lot!

redclover79 · 15/02/2008 11:40

gas and air makes me vom!!! that should be fun then!
littleducks - will send dp out this weekend to get me a new one, he's not very good at keeping receipts though!

i had a transverse pg all the way thru my pg till i was 36 weeks and she turned by herself

Swimming worked for me (if you can bear to appear in public in a swimsuit the attendants looked very very nervous when I went swimming at 37 weeks ). But he turned back to oblique/transverse anyway couldn't get head down it seemed -- and so I ended up with a cs (sorry - not what you want to hear).

Good luck.

found the birthing ball! dp turned a funny shade blowing it up as we couldn't find the pump!

redclover, sorry for very late reply but no I didn't do anything to sort ds out, other than sleep on my left which I think iirc I was doing anyway
