Breast changes or inflammatory breast cancer?

Hi All,

Just seeking advice about breast changes, I will see my GP and hospital doctor tomorrow also.

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and my breasts have grown immeasurably. However, since Saturday my right breast, on the underneath part, is red and inflammed looking. The skin also looks different to the left side. Its not hot to touch or painful though. I don't think its an infection, which leads my brain to inflammatory breast cancer.

I have a picture here too.

I'm a single mom by choice and am now terrified ill leave my precious baby an orphan. I'm 32 years old, if that helps.

Thank you for any advice or reassurance.

Hiya just came across your post and wondered what happened as I have had similar this pregnancy

I had this and it was my skin getting irritated as my breasts grew so quickly. I found wearing breathable crop top type bras helped. I found my skin was incredibly itchy. Obviously always better to get checked to be sure (I also popped to my GP for a check when it happened to me)

Do go to your GP. I went multiple times during pregnancy/breastfeeding as I always had horribly itchy/red/bumpy breasts and have a family history of breast cancer and it was nothing (well, it was thrush once). Moisturising really helps mine, which I find reassuring - as I'm sure you can't moisturise breast cancer into submission.

Try Lanolin nipple cream for pregnancy it was a real relief for itchiness for me
