Bleeding and worried

I'm 6+2 weeks pregnant and started to have some dark brown discharge yesterday. I'm now bleeding red blood and I'm terrified. It's not as heavy as a period but it's enough that it takes multiple wipes to get it away.

I'm booked in for an early scan in 10 days but I'm panicking and with it being bank jol weekend I don't think I'll be able to speak to them until Tuesday.

Google says spotting is normal but I feel like this is more than just spotting. Has anyone experienced similar and had a successful pregnancy?

@Frozendaquiri I am very sorry to hear that but that doesn't necessarily means bad news. Are you cramping? Could you contact your local EPU? When I registered they gave a number to call a midwife 24/7 in case of any issue. Having a scan is the only way to find out what is going on.

Contact your hospital early pregnancy assessment unit and see if they can arrange for you to be assessed. Hope you get some reassurance soon.

Thank you @TTCbaby2023 I'm trying to get hold of them if I can

@SomethingAboutNothing I'm struggling to get in touch with them so you think they will be closed today

There's every chance this is nothing to worry about - I know it's easier said than done but try not to panic, you're doing the right thing to get it checked out.

The other option, particularly if the bleeding increases, would be to contact 111, although there may be a long wait to speak to someone. I would have thought there would still be EPAU cover today but I guess it might vary in different areas.

I spoke to my local EPU who said I needed to call 111. Did that and managed to get an appointment at 4pm, it can't come quickly enough. Thank you all, DH is helping me (well trying) to remain calm

@SomethingAboutNothing surprisingly 111 call lasted less than 5 mins, was advised I'd get a call back within 2hrs with an appointment but it was about 2 minutes later

@Frozendaquiri I'm glad you could get an appt so quickly! Fingers crossed for you that all goes well!

SomethingAboutNothing · 09/04/2023 14:54

That's great, I'm glad you are being seen promptly. Really hope you get some positive news.

@Frozendaquiri how did it go today in the end?
