Self referral to different hospital

Hi All,
Pregnant with second child & due to my first daughters heart condition we were moved to another hospital mid pregnancy and that is where I gave birth to her. I will be consultant led again & will be monitored this time around all the way through, but does anyone know if I can just do as self referral to that hospital for this pregnancy rather than having to do it to my “home” one then have to ask to be transferred?

@Ehc1989 as far as I'm aware you can choose to give birth at any hospital. I'd just self refer there and see what they say. Your midwife care may be with a local team. Ours is a bit complex as we live on a county border so my nearest hospital is in a different health authority. We had to have a different team of midwives and health visitors to consultants but it wasn't a big deal x

Yes just self refer to the hospital you want to give birth at. I self referred to an out of area hospital (because it was actually closer to me!) No issues at all

Yes. I did for similar reasons.
dd1 born at local hospital and then spent 4 months in nicu at a central London hospital. I self referred there for subsequent 2 pregnancies and no one batted an eyelid.
