I'm 12 weeks now and although the sickness has started to subside I still have this horrible taste in my mouth I cannot seem to shake. It's stopping me from enjoying any food and is really getting me down. Has anyone else had/got this? This is my third pregnancy and I don't remember having this with any of my other pregnancies.

Yes I had this when I was pregnant. It went away in the second trimester. It was awful! I think it was oral thrush.

I had this on and off throughout my second pregnancy. Drinking lots of water helped a bit but no other tips I'm afraid. Hope it clears soon!

Yes i had this too! Just for the first trimester like PP couples with nausea but disappeared in the second trimester thankfully!

Yes I had this with my second pregnancy. It was awful. It eased slightly in the second trimester but was then replaced with heartburn! I think it’s to do with hormone levels changing. I found lots of water and sucking mints/boiled sweets helped a bit.

Yup had this in the first and third trimesters both pregnancies, went away in middle. Antacid tablets and chewing gum helped. Literally disappeared as soon as I gave birth!

Mints are your friend!
I practically lived on mints!

Yes! I have rediscovered spearmint polos which seem to help.

It's especially horrid in the mornings, bleurgh.

12+4 and mine is still bad.

I've had this for weeks now! Is it a sort of milky taste, even when you've just brushed your teeth?
I'm being driven mad, it's completely put me off a lot of foods and devastatingly, even tea!!

Lizbiz89 · 09/04/2023 08:51

Thanks everyone! I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's been awful because it basically makes me feel rubbish if I eat anything remotely tasty as I'm left with this horrible taste! @SnackyOnassis I completely the relate re the tea, as soon as drink it I feel horrible. Going to order some rennies for my Tesco shop tomorrow and hopefully it'll ease.
