Second pregnancy symptoms

Did anyone else find their second pregnancy completely different to their first? With my first pregnancy I had the dream pregnancy, felt fantastic, no sickness, no sore boobs, no peeing a lot, just felt really tired the first few weeks with some period like cramps and went off chicken for a while.

This time round, boobs hurt, hips hurt, sides hurt and feel like they're being pulled, constantly peeing with what feels like full bladder, I look and feel about 5 months pregnant and I'm only about 4.5-5 weeks 😅. I left work early today and went home and had a bubble bath because I was in too much pain and have quite a physical job. Silly me assumed I'd have the dream pregnancy again but I guess my body is knackered now from having a baby. Just need to vent after a long day 🙈

Yep! First pregnancy was a breeze, this one has brought me severe sickness and nausea, bleeding, an empty second sac, low placenta, pelvic pain, sciatica… and I’m still only 24 weeks 😖 Never again! 😂🙈

Thankfully no sickness..... Yet... I've had sciatica on and off for years anyway but this is the worst flare up I've ever had, limping everywhere and dragging my leg because it keeps going numb. Also randomly woke up at 2am feeling quite feverish and unwell but feel better this morning? Wondering what will be next 🙈

@WhiteHorse92 Hey. Im 5 weeks on Sunday, 2nd pregnancy. I didn’t find out till I was 7.5 weeks with my first so finding out at 4 weeks Im just finding i’m more anxious, feels like such a long time to wait to find out if all is ok!
Symptoms wise i just have sore boobs & super tired but that’s also down to having a toddler to run around with. I’m intrigued to find out if I will show earlier like they say you do for 2nd pregnancy!

I always feel tired because of having a toddler but today the proper pregnancy tiredness has kicked in! Even after a 2 and a half hour afternoon nap I'm ready for bed 😅

Haha oh so jealous of the nap. My daughter napped in the car on the way back from the beach so bang that was my only bit of relaxing time gone till her bedtime 😂

I'm finding it so so so much harder this time around. I'm bloated and fat, awake all the time, so tired from early wake ups. My stomach feels like it's got a rock in it. Not even 12 weeks!
Do you think it means a different sex from the first?

First pregnancy I was so ill first trimester, could hardly eat, some days couldn't even get out of bed. Grim. Really put me off having another... Second time round currently, 9weeks in. So different - only mild nausea, lots of tiredness, can eat almost normally, even managing to keep up some exercise. So relieved- I couldn't have looked after a toddler if I'd felt the same as my first pregnancy. First was a girl so I wonder if it's a boy this time 🤔

Babytwodue · 07/04/2023 21:06

I feel completely different this time too, but thankfully in a positive way. I hope things improve soon @WhiteHorse92
@Skyla01 this is me too! I had awful sickness into the second trimester first time round, this time just a couple of weeks of it, bit of evening nausea and the odd vomit, I can even eat normal food, it’s such a relief! I had a boy last time, so also wonder if it could be a girl 😄

SkyBlue20 · 07/04/2023 22:21

I thought I might be having a boy (first is a girl) as the pregnancy was so different but two scans have now confirmed it’s another girl!

Skyla01 · 08/04/2023 08:40

@SkyBlue20 it's funny how two pregnancies can be so different!

@Babytwodue I'm really glad I had it this way round. I spent the first few weeks in fear of nausea hitting me bad but it's only been mild. Think I've avoided the worst, fingers crossed. I heard an old midwives tale that you are more sick with girls so hence why I wonder if this will be a boy- that wasn't the case for you last time though obv!
