If you are a regular on the infertility board you may have seen the ERA/Alice/Emma threads for those going through those tests after lots of unsuccessful IVF or recurrent losses. This thread is for the ladies from there who are now pregnant. We can share our worries and joys.

I am useless at remembering who is pregnant from which thread so please do add yourself or tag others. @Janefx40 and @Faithhopelove83.

Also, if anyone who has fully graduated/had their baby, then please feel free to join if you wish. I don't want to tag individuals as I don't want people to feel obliged.

If you've also just had lots of failed ivf and/or recurrent miscarriages you are of course welcome too!

A little bit about me. I have a naturally conceived nearly 7 year old dc. Have been trying for dc2 for 5 1/4 years. One natural early loss, 5 failed ivf, 3 surgeries (main one being an adhesion removed), 2 natural pregnancies and early losses, 1 ivf pregnancy that got to heartbeat stage. This pregnancy is a letrazole round and I'm 9+6 (although measuring 9+0 but that's been consistent) so due early November. I've been spotting brown for the past 3 days but my scan was this afternoon, so reassuring (although still worried). I'm under the CRP clinic in epsom due to the miscarriages.

Good luck to us all!

Amazing news @seven201 what will you do with scans now, will you have any more? It's so strange to me how the NHS just does 2 usually and I've already had 5!! It's so nice to see the baby though.

@Janefx40 I hadn't heard of this with IVF! I can see some articles in the internet say it. I've been having my due date adjusted each time I go.

We got my blood taken this morning for the autoantibodies, so hopefully I should get the result back this week. I'm also due my NIPT result back soon. Good news with the GP they have prescribed me Inhixa which takes a lot of stress away. And I'm in for intralipids tomorrow.

How's everyone doing?

Gardenlady543 · 26/06/2023 15:00

Oh and because it's cute we got a image of baby's tiny little fingers ❤️

@seven201 that is great news. How lovely to have got through the 20 week milestone. It's nice to see that detail too isn't it.

@Gardenlady543 hello baby!!! ItMs waving at us! Is this another scan or a pic from the other day!

X

AM08 · 26/06/2023 17:00

@seven201 what fantastic news, it must have been so lovely - your at/past the halfway mark now. Do you know when you’ll tell your students?

@Gardenlady543 what a gorgeous scan, so nice to see the fingers! Glad things are going well with scans and results.

Gardenlady543 · 26/06/2023 17:08

Thanks guys :) this is from yesterday's scan :) the videos I got weren't that great as the probe was moving but I got this cute picture. My NIPT results just came through and I'm having a girl! me and my husband have always wanted a girl!!!

AM08 · 26/06/2023 17:54

@Gardenlady543 that is amazing news!! Congratulations! Hope you and DH can celebrate tonight!

Janefx40 · 26/06/2023 18:42

@Gardenlady543 a girl!! Congratulations. Having a girl is so wonderful. And most importantly all is well. You're smashing through milestones at the moment.

Gardenlady543 · 26/06/2023 18:50

Thanks guys :)

seven201 · 26/06/2023 20:11

@Gardenlady543 awwwwww!!! A girl!!!! How wonderful. @Janefx40 is right, you really are going through lots of milestones at the moment.

@AM08 I've not told my students yet but definitely some of them have been looking at my bump. I feel a bit silly announcing it to them for some reason. I might wait until one asks!

@Gardenlady543 as I'm 40 and also because I have GD I'll get extra growth scans, so I think at 28, 32 and 36 weeks. Some areas don't even do the 12 week scan unless there's a specific reason to - mad isn't it!

I just opened my notes to have a read and have discovered some other woman's notes also in my folder - a summary sheet from her appt today!! I've emailed my midwife unit asking if I should just destroy it as won't have time to be ringing round trying to tell the right person tomorrow during working hours. Bad though!

Janefx40 · 26/06/2023 22:46

@seven201 oh my that's awful!!! I bet heads will roll over that one.

The nursery sent an email the other week to say they had accidentally sent photos of our child to the wrong parents! Not that we really care but that is a big safeguarding issue for them. Turns out it was to the parents of this girl that looks so like her. I've even said this other girl looks how I would have expected my daughter to look!

seven201 · 27/06/2023 16:37

@Janefx40 that's bad about the nursery photos. Gosh, I hope no one gets in proper trouble for giving me the extra notes. We all make mistakes.

Hi ladies, still in the south of France but just wanted to say NIPT tests came back low risk, they didn’t give me like a ratio like before but said not to worry and we’re in the clear x

Gardenlady543 · 28/06/2023 17:07

@AM08 Woop Woop amazing news!! Enjoy your hols now :)

Janefx40 · 28/06/2023 18:01

@AM08 oh this is wonderful!! I'm so relieved for you. ♥️♥️♥️

So my ongoing investigative testing continues. I got my hcg back which was taken at 11+1 according to the transfer day It's 98,874, it's so weird to think that my first one was 98.1 looking at this value. It's pretty hard to find avengers values at this date but it seems to be in the middle of the range, so nothing to suggest that I have super high hcg causing the thyroid issue, but some people develop it with a normal hcg as they are more sensitive.

My Progesteone is 227, I'm still on everything, I do my last PIO on Wednesday and then Dr Gorgy has asked me to stay on the pessaries for another 2 weeks but hopefully this means the placenta is making a good amount.

Still waiting on the Graves' disease autoantibody, I need to repeat my tft on Monday so hopefully it will be back when that comes back.

I have another scan tomorrow I am feeling worried I'm doing them too often, I think there aren't known risks but people say it can generate heat, at least they are very quick scans.

How's everyone doing?

Janefx40 · 01/07/2023 20:18

@Gardenlady543 frequent scans are fine. I've had scans a day apart - I asked Dr Shehata if this was ok and he said fine. He is a recurrent miscarriage specialist so if he says it is fine, it's fine as far as I'm concerned!

I can't help with the thyroid thing and never tested hcg this late on but hopefully the scan will go well and that is the best reassurance really. Fingers crossed for tomorrow x

Gardenlady543 · 02/07/2023 12:00

Thanks @Janefx40 all was good I measured at 12+1. I have had the same technician almost every time (except the first time and last week), we found out today the person on reception that works with the technician is the technician's daughter which seemed to make it extra special, they are both really lovely and said how much they like seeing people come in and seeing everything progress. She thinks I have an anterior placenta, so I can see this means I may feel movements later on. Three people I know have an anterior placenta as well, I guess it's good for me as I had a fibroid posteriorly that was removed so there will be scarring around there.

seven201 · 02/07/2023 17:01

@Gardenlady543 wow, 12 weeks already! That seems to have flown by (probably not for you). So pleased it went well. I have an anterior placenta. I'm 21 weeks and feeling quite a bit of little movements now, but it is a second pregnancy.

I had my gestational diabetes training group session last week. Everyone was very nice but it was a bit depressing, had a little cry on the way home. I think I'm just fed up of there being 'another thing'. I've been really good since but my levels aren't so great so I think they may up my meds soon. As I'm already on metformin (from CRP) I'm classed as medicated so they're changing which high risk pregnancy team I'm under and I also have to have a fortnightly telephone appt with the diabetes midwife. I know it's good to be so well monitored but I am so fed up with medical appointments.

@seven201 I can imagine, it sounds like a lot. You must be a pro though and know all the advice they give you, so I'm sure you're doing all the right things.

Lol everyone I know has an anterior placenta, my friend acted like they were rare!

AM08 · 03/07/2023 14:52

@seven201 i totally get what you mean about being frustrated when something like this comes up - it’s like ‘wasn’t the ivf enough to go through and come out the other side’ - hope your feeling better about it now and so nice to be at the 21 week mark

Janefx40 · 04/07/2023 02:38

@Gardenlady543 so pleased the scan went well. I did check in but sorry I didn't post sooner.

Been having a bit of a hard time with the baby. Have started doing solo nights - before DP was doing the first half of the night with a bottle but he was getting too tired and it wasn't working. The baby struggles to be put into his cot tho so I hadn't slept more than 90 minutes in a row and about 4 hours across the night for a week or so. Sunday night was a low point where I only got 2 stretches of 30 mins to sleep. Last night I gave him a bottle after feeding him and he conked out for 4 hours so I have had a good sleep although I still need to get him back down otherwise I will have been up since 1:45am which is clearly not sustainable. Oh and he barely gained weight all week which adds to the stress!

He's got much more alert now tho and he is very smiley and sweet which is lovely

Gardenlady543 · 04/07/2023 07:09

@Janefx40 that sounds like a nightmare :( I really value sleep, how are you feeling in yourself. I just feel exhausted right now, does this lift after birth? I can't imagine looking after a baby with how I feel right now.

I think I slept with my mouth open all night again and woke up with the sorest throat, couldn't stop myself from having a stepsil, did a Google search and the internet basically says there isn't evidence they are harmful but they don't say entirely safe either, but I mean it was so sore I didn't feel I had a choice.

Janefx40 · 04/07/2023 08:49

@Gardenlady543 yeah you will lose the "pregnancy tiredness". So I'm not tired in myself just tired through lack of sleep if that makes sense. Had a better night last night tho which was good.

I just keep reminding myself that firstly it will pass and there are lots of good bits to having such a young baby. And secondly no one ever had a baby because they wanted a good night's sleep...ie it is normal!
