If you are a regular on the infertility board you may have seen the ERA/Alice/Emma threads for those going through those tests after lots of unsuccessful IVF or recurrent losses. This thread is for the ladies from there who are now pregnant. We can share our worries and joys.

I am useless at remembering who is pregnant from which thread so please do add yourself or tag others. @Janefx40 and @Faithhopelove83.

Also, if anyone who has fully graduated/had their baby, then please feel free to join if you wish. I don't want to tag individuals as I don't want people to feel obliged.

If you've also just had lots of failed ivf and/or recurrent miscarriages you are of course welcome too!

A little bit about me. I have a naturally conceived nearly 7 year old dc. Have been trying for dc2 for 5 1/4 years. One natural early loss, 5 failed ivf, 3 surgeries (main one being an adhesion removed), 2 natural pregnancies and early losses, 1 ivf pregnancy that got to heartbeat stage. This pregnancy is a letrazole round and I'm 9+6 (although measuring 9+0 but that's been consistent) so due early November. I've been spotting brown for the past 3 days but my scan was this afternoon, so reassuring (although still worried). I'm under the CRP clinic in epsom due to the miscarriages.

Good luck to us all!

@Faithhopelove83 thanks :) I hope I don't get disappointed with the next beta not lining up with the bloods like I did with the first. Symptoms are definitely reassuring, I'm not getting much today, the odd bit of indigestion and breasts a bit sore and hard. But there have been times where I felt awful. Really hope it is good news and you get a better memory at the hospital. And a fall! When I was googling about falls after having that trip last week it said 30% of pregnant people fall.

@seven201 how often have you been having intralipids? I'm booked in for next week which is 4 weeks after the first one, I'm not sure what Dr Gorgy will advise. He told me before if I get a good beta I'd need either LIT or preferably IvIg which I'm hoping is a one off as that stuff is £££. Who are the specialists you are under?

seven201 · 15/05/2023 13:34

@Gardenlady543 I'm just with CRP (and usual NHS appts) as this pregnancy is from a letrazole round. It's intralipids just before ovulation, just after pregnancy test then at 8, 12, 16 weeks. CRP also offer specialist scans with professor Akolekar (he's lead fetal medicine dr for Kent & Medway) which I'm doing as I had pre-eclampsia with my daughter and other complications. My last scan showed I have a fibroid and a subchronic haematoma, so he's keeping an eye on all of that.

Gardenlady543 · 15/05/2023 13:57

@seven201 oh that's interesting, I'll have to ask Dr Gorgy if he recommends intralipids more than the two times I would have had them. Also interesting about the fibroid, as you didn't have that picked up before did you?

Janefx40 · 15/05/2023 15:32

@Gardenlady543 I was also at CRP. They don't do IVIG any more. Although it is very effective they say that intralipids also works if not quite as efficiently but it does enough and it is way more affordable.

@Faithhopelove83 I'm so sorry you have to go to the hospital where you've experienced so much trauma. Sending love. Also sorry about your fall. Ouch!

Faithhopelove83 · 15/05/2023 15:35

Thanks @seven201 and @Gardenlady543 🙂

@Gardenlady543 Yes, it would seem falls are common. I knew ligaments etc are looser in pregnancy, but midwife also said today that that can throw our gait off. I'll definitely be taking extra care from now on! I'm now aching all over and have pulled the muscles in one leg and bruised the other one plus knee. It's so sore to walk and especially go up and down stairs. Lesson learned! My intralipids are similar to @seven201 - I've had them on day 21 of the previous cycle, then day 9 of treatment cycle, then 4-5 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks. So 5 in total, of which 4 are in this cycle / pregnancy. Last lot a week tomorrow!

Faithhopelove83 · 15/05/2023 15:37

Thanks @Janefx40

Gardenlady543 · 15/05/2023 18:47

Fab thanks @Janefx40 I'll ask Dr Gorgy about intralipids timings when I talk to him tomorrow. Not long now, best of luck for tomorrow!!

@Faithhopelove83 I think it's because of cardiovascular issues as well that make people a bit dizzy. Oh poor you with your injuries :( sorry you're feeling sore on top of everything else.

Janefx40 · 16/05/2023 14:50

All good. He is here and he's gorgeous. Can't quite believe it! Xxx

Gardenlady543 · 16/05/2023 15:13

seven201 · 16/05/2023 19:47

@Janefx40 yay yay yay!!!! I'm so bloody delighted for you! I hope all went smoothly and you are enjoying all the snuggles with your boy. Please keep topped up with the pain meds and don't over-do it. Is your DP able to stay overnight with you? So amazing! SmileSmileSmile

InvisibleDreamer · 16/05/2023 22:22

Congratulations @Janefx40 that is great news xx

Janefx40 · 17/05/2023 00:06

@Gardenlady543 I feel ok at the moment but I remember from last time it was the next day that the pain really started!

@seven201 yes lots of snuggles. DP not able to stay past 9pm which is a bit rubbish. Last time he was here over night. Little chap isn't breathing quite right so I will have to stay awake I think to keep an eye on him!

But it's all good.

Hope you ladies are doing well too x

Gardenlady543 · 17/05/2023 06:54

Oh bless you @Janefx40 people tell me there's always something to worry about, worry about getting pregnant, worry about the pregnancy and then worry about the child! Hope the breathing settles and you get to go home as soon as possible!

I didn't get my beta from Monday back yet which is causing me no end of stress. Spoke to Dr Gorgy he put a plan in place for me to have LIT and IvIg on Thursday but we need the beta and I have no idea when medichecks will run the test and release the result, hopefully today at some time but I do need some warning to get plans in place. Had another freak out while waiting for the result, so did another test this morning. It's still going up, it's just whether the rate is as they'd like it to increase.

Gardenlady543 · 17/05/2023 11:10

Finally got my beta back from Monday, it has gone:

8dp5dt 94.1
10dp5dt 152
14dp5dt 477

So most recently I have a 48 hour doubling of 77% and 58 hour doubling time. So a bit better than the last one, do people think I'm on target now?

seven201 · 17/05/2023 14:29

How is the breathing now @Janefx40 ? Sorry DH couldn't stay over. When will you get to go home?

@Gardenlady543 that line can't get any darker now. I think the HCG result sounds good.

Faithhopelove83 · 17/05/2023 15:06

@Gardenlady543 Thank you x Good to see your dark hpt line today. Sorry I don't know anything about betas.

@Janefx40 Sorry to hear about little one's breathing, that must be so worrying. I hope it's improved and you can both get home soon x

@AM08 Was your scan today? Thinking of you x

Dochas12111 · 17/05/2023 15:55

Guys!!!! I’ve been keeping an eye on the thread in infertility hoping to see good news from you @Gardenlady543 then you make me go work for it to hunt you down here 😃😃😃😃

so so thrilled you’ve gotten your BFP! Huge congrats! Wishing you a smooth, happy and healthy pregnancy and the same to your surrogate. I hope she is doing well.

@Janefx40 massive congrats on the safe arrival of your baby boy. Delighted for you! Hope the pain isn’t too bad tomorrow and that you are well looked after in hospital. Enjoy all the newborn snuggles xxx

Hope you are keeping well @seven201 and @InvisibleDreamer

Dochas12111 · 17/05/2023 15:55

Congrats also to everyone else on this thread! I’m not sure I overlapped with any of you but so pleased to see some BFPs!

seven201 · 17/05/2023 17:13

@Dochas12111 hi!! How are you? How's the baby? How old are they now?

All good with me thanks.

@AM08 sorry, lost track. How did it go?

I just picked up my blood test results from GP receptionist who told me "all fine" but then I asked for a print out for CRP clinic and it says on it I need a prescription for iron tablets.

Thoughts on covid vaccine? So I had a booster end of jan and have just been offered another. I was thinking it might be worth waiting until nearer autumn so then the baby has some protection as a newborn? Or should I just do it soonish. I work in a school so can't escape germs at all.

OP posts:
Gardenlady543 · 17/05/2023 17:39

@seven201 I had a consultation with the iron clinic in London, the doctor told me to have iron studies at 24 weeks and if ferritin is under 30 to book in for a iron infusion. I think you're still under that gestation aren't you, but something to consider in the future maybe. Iron infusions seem like the best way to get iron into the body without the gut side effects. I think it was around £700 for the consultation and infusion. But if you are earlier on the iron tablets should be fine.

Ahhh @Dochas12111 I have sent you on a wild goose chase!! Well done for tracking us down!! Thankyou :) I'm still on the worried side, wouldn't it be great to be bang in the middle or dare I say in the best prognosis group for once. But alas it is what it is, things seem to be going up still and I have the immune treatment booked in tomorrow to get through and then have to sit tight and wait.

Thankyou @Faithhopelove83 I did say I would put the tests down but it is reassuring to see the line getting darker :)

Hope everything is going well @Janefx40 thinking of you ❤️

AM08 · 17/05/2023 18:40

@seven201 @Faithhopelove83 had my scan a few hours ago, all was good, heart beat was 130 so not sure what the means at 6 weeks 5 days but generally I’m feeling better following the events of last week. I’ve stopped obsessively googling. Scan again in just over 2 weeks so looking forward to that already.

Re covid booster, my consultant said anytime after 10 weeks pregnant so you should be fine to do it now - I do totally get what you mean though and I reckon I’d probably do it between weeks 14-16 or something like that although that’s based on no science whatsoever haha

@Gardenlady543 how are you feeling about all of your results? the tests look great! Was the doctor looking for a specific number for doubling?

@Dochas12111 Don’t think we crossed paths but thank you and hope your doing well!
