Iv had bacterial conjunctivitis since Saturday. Obviously GP was not open & went to pharmacy to get help. They gave me chloramphenicol 0.5 % antibiotic drops!
Been using them for 5 days now & have a re infection in one eye!
Just read that they are not safe in pregnancy and my anxiety has gone through the roof!
I'm going to phone doctors first thing but does anyone have any advice?
I'm 14 weeks pregnant

There’s little evidence that the drops get into your system as a whole, so I wouldn’t be worried about the 5 days, the doctor may switch you to an alternative but they are harder to get hold of and you need to clear the infection. Source: current horrible infection and lots of googling. I’ve been switched to fucidic acid but due to a sensitivity to chloramphenicol.

@Trixiedrum it's so odd the NHS says that as the other evidence on the internet says a big no no. 😣
Hopefully the doctors will speak to me and give me something safer 🤞🏻

Worried about baby so bad 😿
Plus I find the drops have been giving me a sore throat 😖
