Reflux/heartburn at night destroying me!

I'm 39 weeks and 2 days. Reflux and heartburn at night is killing me off now! I don't know how much more I can take of it. It's been going on for months now. Last few nights I've been waking every 45 minutes coughing/regurgitating food/drippling everywhere/and now I've even started frothing at the mouth! I have to get up repeatedly to brush teeth and rinse mouth. I'm frightened it won't go away after birth. Also I dare not eat in the evening. I have rennies, gaviscon, omeprazole prescription. Anyone else suffering???

I’m not as far along as you (13+3) but I’ve also had terrible acid reflux! I’m dreading it getting worse 😩 hopefully it’ll sort itself out for you in the next week or so! The only thing I’ve found that helps is drinking a glass of milk or a yoghurt when it starts, followed by a glass of warm water (boil in the kettle and leave it to cool). I’m also on omeprazole 😭

I'm 31 weeks and suffering from acid reflux too, although I thought mine was bad it doesn't sound as bad as yours! I sleep practically sitting up with multiple pillows.
I presume you've tried the same?

Sorry OP, sounds horrendous.

It will go away after you give birth though, don’t worry about that. Once the baby isn’t squishing your stomach constantly you’ll go back to normal.

When pregnant, I always slept sitting up, propped up on pillows, with another pillow under my knees to help my back. It was the only way!

Solidarity - as a sufferer even pre baby, during pregnancy was horrendous, and the last trimester was ghastly. However, I’m siding with the PP - it will go away post pregnancy, babies are huge at 39w and right up under your ribs, mine disappeared practically as soon as she was born!

I suffered badly with both pregnancies. I had prescription medication for my second.

I'd take a full dose of gaviscon as well before bed. I'd also sleep propped up with loads of pillows.

It went immediately the kids were born.

Oh that is reassuring to read! I've been really lucky in other respects...still working and really active, but would not wish this reflux on anyone!

Yes I'm 'sleeping' upright too!!
