Hello. Today is 5/april/23. I’m 17 from UK and I had my nexplanon removed on 17/3/23 due to very heavy and irregular periods. My cycles were 12-16 days long.
I got my period 17th-23rd march. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend 19th, 23rd, 26th march and 1st and 2nd of April since the implant was removed. My ovulation was estimated 24th-30th march (CD7-13) and highest ovulation peak day being about CD9/10.
After unprotected sex on 2/4/23 I experienced a small amount of brown discharge and for the past 4 days including today (CD19) I’m spotting the images down below. I’m not due on my period for 5-10 days yet. Is it early spotting or implantation bleeding? I’m peeing a lot more, I got tonsillitis 2 days ago, I’ve felt dizzy, abdominal cramps, sore/more sensitive nipples (I’ve never experienced that), headaches, very very fatigued and often napping and getting very emotional.
Is it too early to test or when can I test?
many thanksStar

@PossiblyPregnantAt17 how stressful.. I would say wait another couple of days and do one more test.. lots of people won't have a positive test until they're around 15dpo. I've just turned the brightness up to full on my phone and there's possible a really faint line but it's so hard to tell at this stage!

If I ovulated CD12/13 I actually would be 11/12dpo so surely would have a darker line

It completely depends when you implant. Some people might implant on day six so get a line at 9dpo..others might not implant til 11dpo so not get a line until 14dpo x

I'm happy either way, I'm not going to shame or guilt myself for being younger.
Due on AF today and no sign of it.

@PossiblyPregnantAt17 and you shouldn’t feel guilt or shame either, whatever will be will be.
But my advice, and I’m saying this out of the goodness of my heart and maybe because I have 3 daughters myself, but stop testing and try stop thinking about it for a few days, it will do you no good honestly.
You’ve come off an implant that can affect your hormones and periods. If you don’t get your period within a few days see your gp as it could be down to number of things.
I really do mean that in the nicest way possible. Mind yourself x

Hi all, I’m new to this…please bare with me!
I’ve been trying to conceive for some time now. My partner lives 70 miles from me so we have to carefully plan dates etc.
I am 42 years old.
I have a 36/37 day cycle for reference…
I had a period on 13/02/23, we had sex on 06/03/23 and haven’t had sex since. I had what I thought was a normal period on 22/03/23. Last Friday (07/04/23) I started spotting, pinkish discharge when I wipe. I started panicking, thinking it was the start of the perimenopause…I don’t know why, but I went and bought a pregnancy test yesterday (10/04/23) which showed a faint line. I went and bought a clearblue digital one which also confirmed pregnancy. I have booked a private scan, and called them this morning to explain the situation. I was told that the bleed on 22/03 could have been losing the pregnancy and that could be the reason for the positive result and current spotting. I’m SO confused. Any advice gratefully received x

Update: I'm on CD27 and no sign of period. I've been cramping the last few days but no spotting or any signs of AF starting. Ordered more tests to come tomorrow in case.

The line was same as last time so assuming I'm negative as if I was pregnant I'd be 4 weeks today and the line would be stronger

SillyOldBear3 · 14/04/2023 21:44

Yes, if the first test did have a faint line and it's still no stronger I'd say negative. Looks like your body may just be adjusting to the implant being removed xx

My period was predicted CD25 (11th April) however now it's gone past midnight and I'm technically CD29 my Flo app has said time for a pregnancy test, you are 1 day late for period so is there still a possibility and what's the latest it can take until it could come up with a bfp? I don't know when to stop testing because my period doesn't seem like it's coming soon ahhh lol this is so frustrating

When pregnant with my DD I didn't get a positive until 9 days late and I tested daily! Try first response with your first morning wee over the weekend x

Oh wow! It's crazy to think how different everyone is. I've never missed a period however I had nexplanon removed 17th march so it could be pregnancy or irregular cycle but have heard many get pregnant within first cycle.
Were your tests before your positive a strong negative or did u have a faint line any of the days before your bfp?

I was using a mix of cheapy brands, clear blue and first response and all were completely negative. No faint lines.
The day I got a positive I used a dr Lee cheap strip and saw something faint, and confirmed with a clear blue digital straight after.
She was also a twin, I miscarried one at 9 weeks but it was odd I didn't show on a test for so long with twins, the nurse said it may have been my body struggled to pick up the positive because I lost the twin so early on, but when I actually went to hospital my HCG level dropped during the time I was there so that was what made them confirm a miscarriage. Scan showed one heartbeat a week later and one "mark" where they think indicated the twin. Very complex and I still don't understand it now really, but with my son I had a super strong positive 3 days before my period was due. So it's really really different for each time!

I would leave it a couple days, and test Monday with a first response. If that's negative I would assume it's correct and leave it and try put it out your mind. I have also made myself really late for a period convincing myself I was pregnant before.

@PossiblyPregnantAt17 I think I can see a faint line.. it's very faint though.. have you been taking them with first morning urine?

Okay okay update I was looking back through test pics and saw a faint blue line on the clearblue in my camera roll which I thought was negative but clearly didn't look properly. It says online if you put a black and white filter and some saturation on the line will show up if it's coloured. Am I going crazy?!

It does look like there's some kind of line or discolouration on that test. Have you considered going to see your doctor? You could explain that you've been getting faint lines, they may be able to offer you a blood test to check your HcG levels. Sometimes a really faint line which doesn't progress can indicate a chemical pregnancy, which is where you get pregnant but the pregnancy fails very early on.

Would I have any bleeding with a cp?

I've had one chemical pregnancy back in December, I had a faint positive test when my period was due, and then my period arrived a week later and tests were no longer positive. You normally bleed around a week later with a chemical, as it takes a while for the pregnancy hormones to leave your body. My positive tests were darker than yours though, so it might not be the case for you x

Sorry to hear that. Do you think my lines could become stronger yet and there's still a chance of a bfp even though I'm 2 days late?
