Hello Third Trimester - What Can I Expect?

Hi ladies!

40 with my first pregnancy. DS expected at the end of June. I feel surprisingly calm and so far everything has been going well.

Now that I’m in my final stretch, the reality of everything is hitting me as I try to get myself prepared.

I hear so many stories of how the 3rd dragged (although for me, the latter half of the second was overly long).

How did yours go? Any signs to watch out for? Favourite moments of this trimester?

Third trimester was the best for me!

I had loads of energy, the discomfort of my body changing stopped, and everyone is really nice to you!

Keep moving, keep walking, sleep well and enjoy!!!

The good thing is you’ll have had the baby before any heatwaves here! I’m not due until August and was the same last time so it was a bit annoying in the heat. I honestly didn’t find it bad and I kept thinking I wasn’t that big or maybe people couldn’t tell I was pregnant but looking back at pictures they definitely could 😂 I didn’t ever have any bad pain or anything and baby didn’t go head down at the end so I didn’t get the ‘bowling ball’ between your legs feeling. It was really fine! Hoping for the same again

Keep moving is good advice! I loved my third trimester even though I had crippling PGP, just loved how I looked, loved his big movements, loved sitting watching telly dreaming about baby etc. Then around 34 weeks I started my hospital bag and nursery etc and it really started to feel real! Such a wonderful exciting time, enjoy Smile

Thank you for this. I definitely want to intentionally keep up with my walks - it’s become increasingly easy to stay on the couch recently- especially since I’m working from home!

feeling the baby move has been the best pat so far! He’s kicking like a horse already!

Thank you so much for the comment. I hope it’s smooth and easy 🙏

It’s so funny you say that. I absolutely have the feeling that I’m barely showing and no one can tell I’m pregnant. Then I’ll move a certain way, and I look humongous!
Its like baby is playing hide and seek constantly 😂😂😂

There’s a heatwave where I am, and it’s miserable. But thankfully, it’s set to ease up, as we get into May.

Thanks for the comments. I hope your second is as easy breezy as your first!

My favourite trimester. Everyone can see you are pregnant and the movements are reassuring and pleasant (if sometimes uncomfortable!), i used to love lying in the bath watching my bump move 😍

But you will find it hard to get comfortable.in bed as you get massive. Tying shoes can also be a challenge....

I didn't find it dragged, but then I've never gone to 40 weeks, my kids like to surprise me by turning up on first day of mat leave!
