5 week spotting help!!

Just looking for a little advice! According to my dates I'm just over 5 weeks pregnant. I had an early loss last month and I'm pregnant again straight away without a period in between. I've been spotting since Saturday, not bright red, pink mixed with discharge and only when I wipe and not every time. I rang my local pau and the midwife said it will be implantation. I'm just worried this is heading in the wrong direction again 😞 I also had a tsh blood test Friday for my thyroid before I did a pregnancy test and have an appointment with the endocrinologist tomorrow. Will they be able to see I'm pregnant from the blood test?? I'm a little all over the place and just hoping it's not another loss. Has anyone else had this? I have no pain and I've had 3 very clear positive tests despite the spotting.

I had this on my first pregnancy between 4 and 5 weeks. In fact I thought I had got my period and it was game over for that month but felt pregnant and tested positive the day after. I had the bleeding for around 5 days and docs sent me for blood test to check HCG was rising. All was fine and she is now nearly 3. Good luck x

The endocrinology tests would only show that if they deliberately asked for HCG to be checked.

Unfortunately with early losses , the reason the NHS are so hands off is that there is not much they could do. If your thyroid measurements are off, that can contribute to losses so it's great you're getting that looked into

if things remain sporting only, that's a good sign. I'm crossing fingers for you 🤞

Thank you both for your replies. I just keep telling myself as long as it doesn't get heavy or painful every thing will be ok. Im just so hesitant to register with the midwife in case I do end up miscarrying. Pregnancy after loss is so hard!

Hey, so sorry to hear of your previous loss.
I am currently 4 weeks pregnant, only found out a few days ago, for me this is my 3rd pregnancy & each time I have had bleeding & was all okay. It appears my body still likes to have its “period” so for the last 2 pregnancies I found out later as always had what I thought was a period. This is the earliest I’ve found out and that’s only as my boobs were really sore even though I am bleeding a bit and it was positive. Going to do a clearblue in the morning just to be sure how far gone I am!!
Sending lots of positive vibes your way xx

Ah thank you. This will be my 3rd baby (all being well!) and I've never bled during pregnancy! I've don't another test tonight and it's just made me feel worse as it's lighter. I've drank around 2-3 litres of water today so trying to reassure myself that's why 😔 I've ordered clearblue to come tomorrow and will take one wednesday morning. Xx

Oh bless you, I read on here the other day about the lines being darker or lighter can be more to do with hydration etc. I don’t know much about it myself.
Please let me know how you get on xxx

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 03/04/2023 22:09

You can only compare the exact same type of test, taken with first morning urine! Evening tests will be affected by fluids, foods etc

elm26 · 03/04/2023 23:51

I had this and an early scan, once confirmed baby in the correct location with a hb at 6.5 weeks they gave me progesterone and the bleeding stopped. I'm now 32 weeks. Good luck OP, wishing you all the best and a healthy pregnancy x

I'm sorry to hear of your losses too, I had 13 miscarriages before this little miracle. I feel like I could write a book about anxiety in pregnancy after loss!

ohbaby03 · 04/04/2023 08:07

Thank you @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl I didn't know that. I have no tests left till the clearblue ones arrive but I think I'm going to hold off a couple of days before doing another.

@elm26 13 losses!! Wow you're so brave to keep trying and I'm so pleased for you that things have finally worked out ❤️ that's amazing.

Well I was expecting to wake up this morning in a pool of blood as I had cramps before I went to sleep however I haven't. The slightest tinge of very watery pink when I've gone to the loo just now.

I'm currently in the same situation, just over 5 weeks and currently having light brown when I wipe.

I had a ectopic / PUL last year so have an early scanned booked in with the EPU next week but tests are going lighter and lighter so feeling disheartened atm

I have my fingers crossed for you OP I hope everything works out for you

ohbaby03 · 04/04/2023 19:40

So I couldn't resist and did a clearblue. This was an hour hold as soon as I got in from work and came up straight away. Got everything crossed 🤞🏼
