I have covid and I have never felt so ill, for the past 3 days my nose is completely blocked, my voice is gone, I am coughing up green phlegm and totally knackered. I have been using Saline nose drops, Vicks, antiseptic throat spray and paracetamol. I have also been going for showers trying to let the steam get to me and putting my head over a bowl of water and vicks. None of this has helped 😫 Im so miserable, does anyone know if there is anything else I can take to ease the congestion it’s the worst part. I have so much pressure in my Face!

That sounds like Covid-extreme! Have you been vaccinated?

I managed just with paracetamol and a big box of tissues, and felt much better after 48 hours.

Olbas Oil is good for clearing the nose.

Honey lemon ginger hot drinks helped me a little, hang in there I had it as bad as you too and had a baby in tow was horrendous!

In My opinion, you should visit a doctor if you are experiencing any kind of health issue. Self-medication can be dangerous and it is important to get a professional opinion. A doctor can diagnose your condition and provide the best treatment.

Who will see her with covid?

N-acetyl cysteine should help you recover quickly. It's safe in pregnancy and used to treat COVID in hospital. You could take it 900mg for 10 days, probably split 450mg morning and night. Easy to Google x

By the time the OP gets hold of that, she'll probably be on the mend!

You can get it on Amazon, next day delivery x

twoundertwowho · 03/04/2023 16:21

Carry on taking past peak infection as it really will help recovery, especially clearing your lungs x

I would ring your GP and ask for advice, OP. They might want to monitor you. Are you having any breathlessness, or just the sinus pain? I had it the first time I had Covid, it was unbearable.

Mumma29x · 03/04/2023 22:40

Thanks everyone, GP has gave me sterimar (don’t know why the chemist never suggested that when I went in as nose drops were rubbish) also gave me amoxicillin but then said they probably won’t help 🙄! Im not breathless, it’s the sinus pain is so extreme feels like my head could burst. Has calmed down a little since using the sterimar but it builds up instantly again.

You poor thing! I had this at 8 ish weeks and it was AWFUL, exactly as you describe so much pain from the sinus blockage. I did find doing a nasal rinse helped move the snot on and along with really hot showers, getting right under the stream and putting a flannel over my head/nose area and cupping around my mouth and nose so I could breathe
Also sleeping propped up and lots of water. Hope you feel better soon x
