When to tell fertility clinic that I'm pregnant?

We have seen the fertility clinic on the NHS. I'm currently pregnant 8w from taking metformin to conceive. When should I tell the clinic?

We have had a viability scan (private) at 7w which went well. I'm terrified of miscarriage as we have had an early loss before (4w).

I don't want to lose access to the drugs that helped me get pregnant if I need them again...but I'm also experiencing horrendous pregnancy symptoms and wonder if its relating to metformin. GP told me to carry on taking it for now.

I was going to wait until 12w but unsure if I should.

No appointments with clinic until after 12w scan date.

Hi lovely!

I’m not sure if this works differently to IVF (not that mine was NHS but friends were) -

We told them as soon as we knew. They were very supportive and offered midwifery support during those early weeks when you’re anxious. I’m not sure why you think they wouldn’t allow you more drugs?! They’re the experts and would be able to give you probably better advice than the GP.

I found them great for support and we also got an early scan included for “free”. But NHS did too! So you might have even got a scan for freee x

I told them as soon as I knew. Perhaps telling them will let you know what to do about the drugs. I'm pretty sure I stopped Metformin once I was actually pregnant.

I know somebody tbat works there and she said unless you have IVF they tend to discharge you immediately...so just a bit worried that they won't be there anything goes wrong...
So I guess I'm just a bit worried about being discharged completely

I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and tell them, I'll never feel confident doing it!

I was taking metformin for fertility reasons when I conceived. I told them straight away and the consultant prescribed me some oestrogen(if I remember correctly) pessaries. I was discharged at either 12 or 20 weeks. I can’t remember, but it was definitely after one of the scans.

I've just called them so waiting for a call back from one of the nurses. The person on the phone was weirdly rude and literally huffed when I said I'm pregnant!

I was seeing NHS fertility consultant and they still saw me after I was pregnant (also not IVF).

He prescribed me progesterone pessaries for 3 months due to previous CPs, arranged an early scan at EPU and is seeing me again between that appointment and my DD to check if everything is going okay. So I definitely haven't been discharged.

BUT every NHS area has different policies.
