Head down, folded in half, 36 weeks

A quick question, everyone.
My csection is only a few days away, at 37 weeks, and I am curious/concerned about the position of baby.
I have had a dozen ultrasounds these past few months, and baby has always had their feet pressed up against their forehead.
Baby is now head down and STILL has their feet up against their forehead.
Apparently they turned to head down and insisted on keeping their feet by their head.
I did some searching but everything I can find on this position is for breach babies, not ones head down and engaged.
I was told at my appointment Friday that baby is low (which is good) but because of the folding, the Dr. now wants to cut me vertical on my uterus, they feel it's safest. The Dr does not anticipate baby lowering their legs before my csection.
Anyone had this with a head down and engaged pregnancy?
This is my 5th csection and I've never encountered this.
Anyone had a baby folded in half by the time they delivered?
