I came off birth control at the end of October and just found out this week I'm around 4 weeks.
This is my current belly bloat and I'm loving every minute of it. I am being so careful, currently off work for 2 weeks (easter) so I feel the timing is just perfect because I can focus on my health and resting.
I hope the bloat goes down a little before returning to school? It wouldn't take my pupils long to question me!!
At the moment, I have no aversions and I'm eating alot more than normal, severe constipation, insomnia, emotional but I'm enjoying it xx

Congrats OP. I'm at the same stage as you but with my second. Enjoy every second. Your post is such a happy one, it's lovely. ❤️

Congratulations. My bloat didn’t go away either. With DC1 I was in maternity clothes from 12 weeks. And with DC2 people were asking me when I was due at 8 weeks.

sommeliermama · 02/04/2023 07:24

Congrats! I was very bloated from when I found out at 5 weeks all the way through the first trimester and into the second when the bump started to grow. Hope everything goes well and enjoy all the excitement!

@MathsNervous thank you so much xx

@LolaGarden I thought this may be what will happen me. I can't wait to have a proper bump. I will have to get some floaty loose tops for work. Thank you xx

I have self referred for my first appointment online. I chose a certain hospital for this appointment, but I'm also interested in another hospital. Does this matter? I keep thinking I messed up but surely this can be changed after discussion with midwife etc if needs be. This hospital is great but I heard they don't really offer water birth whereas the other one has a few water birth suites. (I'm very interested in this)

@Roxyroxy11 not related to your bloat, but we seem to be on the same timeline… came off the pill during the October Week (what we call half term in Scotland) and I’m now somewhere between 4 and 5 weeks pregnant! I’m also delighted to be off for 2 weeks as I have been struggling to stay awake when I’ve been getting home from work for the last week!
I thankfully don’t seem to have any bloat as of yet, but the children in my class would 100% question me if I looked even slightly pregnant!

Roxyroxy11 · 02/04/2023 08:46

@TTCTeacher this is exactly when I stopped taking my pill!! So we seem to be on the same time line. Congrats!!! What ages do you teach? I have 11-18. They are so forward and inquisitive. They will soon suss me out I'm sure 🤣

@Roxyroxy11 I teach P7, so 11-12! I was on an outdoor adventure week with them this week and they were all suspicious because I would normally throw myself into the activities, but I held back a lot more this time round! Luckily, I damaged all the ligaments in my knee/ankle/foot at Christmas time so I could tell them I was just worried about doing any more damage to that and they seemed to accept it!

How have you been feeling other than the bloating?

Roxyroxy11 · 02/04/2023 09:01

@TTCTeacher oh my gosh!! Haha funny how they pick up on things. I teach a gcse child development class and I can guarantee they will be the ones to notice something although they go on study leave early May.

I feel really happy and proud even though its only been a few days 😄 I have pretty bad insomnia and hunger. I started frequent urination last night and all night. How have you been feeling? So happy to now know someone in a similar scenario to me regarding timeline and career 🙌

Congratulations 🎉 your very slim so you will probably start to show sooner. My bloat never went it just turned into a bump. Probably because I was eating so much! I didn't want people to know early so I just wore baggy clothes because I looked pregnant really early on.

TTCTeacher · 02/04/2023 09:57

@Crazycatlady19 hopefully they don’t blow your cover before their study leave begins!
I’ve been the opposite in regards to sleeping, I’ve been falling asleep straight after dinner and sleeping all the way through most nights this week! Also (tmi) my boobs are in absolute agony! My dog leant on on earlier this morning and I almost burst into tears!
yeah it’s nice to have someone in the same boat!

Yes I'm at 20 weeks now

TwigletFiend · 02/04/2023 18:01

My bloat kicked in at about 6 weeks and peaked last week, week 14. It was the really awful, tender kind where it didn't look much bigger, but it felt so painful to touch/wear clothes, like I'd swallowed a balloon. Now 15 weeks and it's currently much better!

I have done the same thing lol, I've read online you can change you just to tell your midwife at booking in. I could be wrong though, totally new to this as it will be my first. I'd have to have a C-section due to congenital issue with my lower spine (doesn't affect me at all apart from I've been told my tail bone basically blocks the birth canal) and I'm already freaking out about this. Where to go, will they try to convince me to try a natural birth first as I've heard lots of consultants can be minded to do this.... Way to early for me to stressing over that!
