cannot find anything on google . It just tells me leg and thigh pain can be apart of pregnancy but nothing on the back of thigh / hamstring . Stretching and walking it hurts . My worry is a blood clot but have seen that it’s most common in thigh or calf . Anyone shed some light ? I’m only 9 weeks , don’t wanna contact my gp or early pregnancy unit incase it’s nothing serious

Any pre-existing injuries that pregnancy hormones could be flaring up?

It also might be something to do with pelvic alignment, things will be just starting to move a little in that area.

How long has it been going on for?

It's difficult working out what is and isn't pregnancy related. So far this pregnancy I've had lots of odd things. Usual twinges in belly area, cramps early on, a sore wrist, headaches, knee pain, achy back, a tingly shoulder, etc. None lasted more than a few days (except the headaches) and may have been caused by pregnancy, or sleeping in a funny position, or just that I'm getting old 😆

If the pain is definitely muscular (achy feeling in your muscle when stretching) then I wouldn't jump to blood clot. I'd do stretches, warm baths, rest, all the usual things for sore muscles, and wait and see. But you obviously should make up your own mind.

Are you dehydrated? Leg pain can be associated with it

Julias21 · 01/04/2023 20:49

@Tigger1895 possibly . I take sips of water throughout the day cause I’ve been so nauseas so I don’t drink as much as I should

ORS hydration tablets can be used in pregnancy. If unsure double check with the pharmacist. You can sip it throughout the day and it tastes better than the alternative. Dehydration also adds to the nausea, so it’s a viscous cycle

@Julias21 sorry I know this is an old thread, but just wondered if you ever found out if this was pregnancy related? I cant find anything else anywhere on Google, mumsnet or reddit but I have all the same symptoms you described! Im 11 weeks 5 days x
