Faint pregnancy test at 6 weeks

I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks. I had one cheapie test left and so decided to take it one week later at 6 weeks pregnant. The test has come back positive but is very faint despite taking it first thing in the morning.

I'm worried this means the pregnancy isn't progressing as it should and that something is wrong. I have had some symptoms but today I'm not feeling anything which isn't helping my anxiety.

I have thought about getting more tests and testing regularly to see if they get stronger but am worried this may worsen my anxiety, not help it.

Some advice please!! Does a faint pregnancy test mean something definitely isn't right?

(The clear blue tests are the ones I took at 5 weeks, the other is the cheapie I took at 6 weeks).

A line is a line

the amount of dye on the line is not relevant, all tests and urine concentrations vary!

congratulations

Could you have ovulated later that you thought? The clear blue are light for 5 weeks. If I were you I'd take another clear clue so you can compare, you can't compare different brands.

Look up the hook effect x

Step away from the tests. It won’t do you any good. If anything book yourself in for a private scan if you can afford it. Testing won’t ease your anxiety, I did it myself and wouldn’t recommend

At this stage I’d ask the GP to measure your hCG.

A scan at 6 weeks may give you some answers but it’s still very early to scan so I’d leave it until 7 weeks if you can, that should be definitive.

That’s a very strong line. It’s a stronger line than I’ve ever seen on any of my tests. Your five week lines are too.

But I’ve never re tested after getting a positive as that does absolutely nothing other than line the pockets of the pregnancy test makers, create plastic waste and make your anxiety rocket.

Congratulations on all your very positive pregnancy tests!
