Ive had 4 periods of work in the last 4 months. Not with sickness but I work in a school and seem to be picking up bugs / colds so regularly that literally zap all my energy 😭 don’t know if it goes down as pregnancy related though and worried about my absences. Anyone else feel like this? Or know if it will go down as pregnancy related?

Hiya, I’ve had the same. Your immune system is suppressed during pregnancy and you’re more likely to pick up colds. I’ve similarly found that normal colds are absolutely flooring me. They last for around 9 days each time and I have to spend multiple days in bed. I’ve got a cold right now and honestly I feel like I might just self isolate for most of the rest of my pregnancy (4 weeks left) because it’s just so awful feeling like this. I’m otherwise very healthy and had the perfect pregnancy. Super frustrating. Hope it gets better for you xx

Are you taking vitamin supplements? Vitamin D is particularly important for fending off viral infections and most people in the UK are deficient in it in winter& spring.
Make sure you're eating lots of fruit and veg too!

Hi,

please can someone help me? I work in a school and have done for 3 years, my contract says in the 3rd year of service I am entitled to 4 months sick pay and 4 months half pay. I am pregnant and have HG. Someone has told me something about a qualifying week and I have no idea when I can stay off etc without my SMP being affected? Please can someone help xxxx 😭😭😭
