Hello everyone,

I put a post on a few days ago about how I don't feel I have any pregnancy symptoms and it's worrying me - still feeling the same but have noticed the odd twinge I had on my right side I haven't had for 2 days and panicking. It wasn't a pain, it was just a prickling feeling that gave me a slight itch afterwards - when I googled it, it said that this was common as it's the body stretching/baby imbedding. I'm concerned I haven't really had this for 2 days, except for yesterday I felt a slight tug there at one point in the day. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this where it lasted for a couple of days and then went? I have seen a lot of people say it lasts throughout pregnancy as your body changes and now i'm worried. I still have sore boobs like I have had from the beginning, which usually get worse throughout the day (i'm fine if i'm just sat still but if I was to touch them/knock them would hurt etc) and I am still having strong pregnancy tests (but I know this doesn't really mean anything) but nothing else other than tiredness but I have also given up caffeine since I found out.

I just don't think I was ever prepared for feeling like I wasn't "pregnant" or constantly feeling like something is wrong. Touch wood, I have had no pain/blood but I know this equally doesn't necessarily mean anything. I've ordered a blood test to do at home to see if my HCG levels are still rising but I can't get out of my head my twinges only lasted for a couple of days.

Any support/advice would be greatly appreciated as I am a complete anxious mess and don't know what to do!

Give yourself a bit of a break. It sounds like you definitely are feeling pregnant - sore boobs, exhausted, twinges. That’s about as pregnant as you can feel at this stage! Be grateful no morning sickness because it sounds awful - I never got morning sickness or any of the ‘cravings’ symptoms

i am now 16 weeks and have had constant twinges that come and go and occasionally cramps. It’s all normal. Also definitely stop testing and don’t do HCG blood tests. You are pregnant and there’s nothing more tests can tell you. Instead book a few scans every 2-3 weeks for reassurance, this is what I did

EllieJade95 · 31/03/2023 09:57

@Lhdale Yeah I totally agree I have the sore boobs etc, my concern is that I only had a couple of days of twinges and now they've gone completely. I just wanted to see whether it is common for the twinges to last a couple of days and go, cause all I have seen is people like yourself say that they've had them their whole pregnancy or at least the first 12 weeks so i'm just worried the fact my twinges have stopped as I know it's seen as a good thing that your body is changing etc :( I know people say come and go but I don't know what that means - e.g did you not have any for a few days and then they came back again etc!

@EllieJade95 yes exactly there’ll be there for a few days and then go away for a few days or weeks then come back! Mine disappeared from about 11 weeks then reappeared around 14 weeks and now some days I have them and some days I don’t! It’s all normal and I promise not something to worry about

twoundertwowho · 31/03/2023 10:04

It's common not to have any symptoms at all! I'm on my second one now and I did not know I was pregnant until I was 6 weeks and even when I did find out I didn't have any symptoms until about 8-10 weeks maybe but they've been mild the whole time. I'm now 24 weeks and if baby wasn't moving around and I didn't have a bump, I would not know I was pregnant.

First time round all the symptoms came and went with no rhyme or reason and various different times.

Please don't worry, the tests are positive and that's all you need to know.

I'm 5 weeks today and my only real symptom is sore boobs OP

kl1999 · 31/03/2023 10:08

Hi OP, so sorry you feel the way you do. Sending Hugs ❤

What you are experiencing sounds perfectly normal to me. I'm currently 14+6 days and during the early weeks, I did experience weird twinges like you describe. It was just off and on, maybe a couple twinges a few times a week, nothing major. Had a few since then too. To be honest, I didn't really monitor it to much. I knew it was down to my insides changing and making room for baby.

You need to remember that every body and every pregnancy is different, so what some people may experience one type of way, you may be completely different. It doesn't make your experience not right though, or that it indicates that something is wrong.

For example I have had bad morning sickness, nausea, tiredness and fatigue from around week 7. It's only just starting to settle down!!

As PP says, what you are currently experiencing at 5/6 weeks, sounds normal and definitely early pregnancy signs. Especially the sore boobs and twinges.

I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry. I have a mc last year, and this whole pregnancy, I have been very anxious and nervous. But I kept reminding myself that today, I am pregnant and there really isn't much else I can do to control any outcomes.

It doesn't sound like you've had anything happen to indicate anything is wrong, so try and stay calm and enjoy the sickness free days! 🌷💕

The only symptoms I had during early pregnancy were feeling a bit more tired than usual and a strange taste in my mouth. I had some implantation bleeding around 8 weeks but that was it. No sore boobs, morning sickness, no twinges or pulling, if I hadn't done test I would never have guessed I was pregnant

AlltheFs · 31/03/2023 10:11

I didn’t get any pregnancy symptoms until 8 weeks and even then barely any. Not everyone does. I didn’t even have sore boobs. Just no period.

8-12 weeks I was exhausted and starving, even ate at night in bed.

At 12 weeks brushing my teeth and emptying the dishwasher made me retch and that lasted until about 24 weeks. No other sicknes.

Other than my growing tummy I’d have absolutely no idea I was pregnant the restof the time, I just felt great.

LiG123 · 31/03/2023 10:22

If I didn't grow a giant bump and feel kicks towards the end id probably never have known I was pregnant with one of mine.

The other though 🤢🤢🤢🤢
And both the same gender.

Enjoy it

@kl1999 Thank you so much for your message - that made me cry! I think it's just I always imagined when I would become pregnant i'd just feel different (which I don't) and would have strong symptoms. Now i'm analysing, wondering why I don't have the twinges anymore and whether something is a symptom or not. It's good to hear that your twinges came and went and came back again though - I hope that's the same for me. It just feels like when you don't have symptoms something must be wrong!

I guess all I can do is sit back and wait until my first scan (and maybe just hope I get a couple of extra things in the next few days haha).

I really appreciate your message - I am hoping my anxiety goes down a bit soon xx

@Frozendaquiri Yes the boobs are the main one for me! I am tired but have given up caffeine now so could just be the withdrawel from that lol!

@twoundertwowho Thank you for sharing that - I know I am probably just worrying a lot, but it's hard when you don't feel like you're pregnant or if you have something and then you don't have it anymore! It doesn't help I don't really know exactly how many weeks I am as I am irregular. I am either 5 + 6 or 6+6 - I think i'm worrying cause if i'm 6+6 and don't feel anything xx

@Lhdale Thanks so much for your advice, I will try my best to stay calm and hope I just get a few more twinges to relax me. I just feel like all I see is about miscarriage, blighted ovum etc and just worrying about everything!

You are more than welcome! Pregnancy is tough and our hormones are all over the place. Feeling anxious and nervous is completely normal, but I really hope it doesn't become something that clouds this amazing experience for you 😘

The first few weeks are so strange, because you have a positive test, and maybe some early changes like sore bores or feeling tired, but you don't "look" and always "feel" pregnant. So it almost doesn't feel real! I think a lot of us go through this but don't always speak up about it.

Take care of yourself first and foremost. I'd definitely book in for an early scan as and when you can. Seeing them on the screen does make things feel that bit more real and should give you the reassurance you need lovely ❤

Lol, that should say sore boobs*
