Hi ladies
I am getting myself a bit worried as it’s my first pregnancy and everything is a worry …
I’m currently 9 weeks pregnant but been having a few symptoms that I think could be UTI but also could just be general pregnancy - such as frequent urination, mild lower back cramps that come and go.
anyway, my GP have asked me to do a urine sample and said that the results will take 5 days and to call up next week for the results.
im so worried in case it is a uti and it’s missed because the results didn’t come back sooner.
its also taken me a couple of days to notice so I’m really panicking about how long I’ve had it and what this could mean for the baby. Are they going to be ok??? Anyone else had something similar and can advise please? X

I had an undetected UTI which turned into sepsis, I was hospitalised for 5 days but baby is completely fine. Go back to the doctor if it gets worse and make sure you know the symptoms for sepsis

I had an appointment with a consultant at the start of this week who was shocked I hadn’t been given antibiotics for a UTI 3-4 weeks previous that had shown on my urine sample but no one had contacted me about. Whilst he was disappointed no one had contacted me, he didn’t show any concerns about me not getting the meds or having it treated so I would try not to worry. I just thought the pain/symptoms were pregnancy related but it does explain why my partner nearly took me to hospital when we thought I might have appendicitis 3 weeks ago! I’m now half way through the antibiotics and feeling much better!
