Measuring ahead at 28 weeks

Hi ladies hoping someone can offer some experience?

I had my midwife apt this morning at 28 weeks, she measured my bump with a tape measure and said I was measuring way ahead at 32 weeks and 32 cm!!! So is referring me to consultant for a scan, she said it could be "something or nothing" so I'm totally panicked!

Has anyone any experience! My last baby was born in 39th centile! This one is off the chart!!! X

My last DC i was measuring a few weeks ahead. Midwife didn’t
refer me or anything. When my DC was born ( c sec) they said I was carrying a lot of fluid. No idea if that alter the measurements. I would not be concerned.

@Highfivemum thank you for youre reply!!! She tapped my stomach and said she couldn't see excess fluid! But I'm not sure that's accurate! My DD is two so I'm hoping I'm just carrying big! But it's the fact she's referred me for a scan and said it could be "something or nothing" but didn't actually say what the something could be!!! X

At 32 weeks I was told DC1 was large and particularly large for me (I'm small). Scan showed 50th centile and all fine. At 38 weeks they said she hadn't grown since 36 weeks (different Midwife). Another scan all ok and at 25th centile. She was born at 40 weeks on 9th centile so considering they had originally said large she was fairly small. I didn't find those measurements accurate x

I was 28 week and my midwife said my bump was coming in at 34 lol and sent me to consultant and they just did extra scans coz they fort baby was going to be big all my other baby's have never been over 7lb last last baby was 7lb 5oz I wouldn't worry x

This really helps ladies thank you!! I'm a naturally anxious person and looking at my chart the baby is in about 150th percentile!! Based on bump measurements!! I'm only small at 5.2 so hoping it's just he's on the larger side but not that large!! X

Is there actually a concern measuring ahead does anyone know? She made it out like it could reflect something is wrong with baby!!! X

No just that baby could be bigger that's all went I went for scan they said my lil was going to be 9lb 13oz and he was only 7lb 5oz so it could be more fluid don't worry x

Bigger baby can be an indicator of gestational diabetes. Likely they will scan you and of baby measuring big they might refer you for GTT to rule it out
