Has anyone had to take this from early pregnancy right the way through?

I've needed it from 7 weeks but feeling guilty for bombarding the fetus with medicines! (I've needed a lot of paracetamol for migraine too).

Tried going without for the past 3 days but really noticing the difference. The reflux is bad enough with it, never mind without. Can't believe I'm finding it such an issue so early. My last pregnancy I was 3rd trimester before I had it.

Just wondered if anyone else has needed it for so much of the pregnancy to reassure me all was ok?

I know that's part of a GP or midwifes job but also how overworked they are. And all meds say take for as short time as possible.

Thanks.

Yesi took it all the way through pregnancy because I have barretts oesophagus. DD is fine.
Check out the BUMPS website as that has all the safety information about medicines in pregnancy.

I take it continuously throughout pregnancy and outside of pregnancy. I also take a whole host of other medicines to keep me healthy and have been assured these will only have neutral or positive effects on baby.

Thank you both. That helps!

I've only started taking this a couple of weeks ago but wish I had started it sooner! Had heartburn since around 4 weeks (now 24 weeks)

I'm taking it during the first trimester as I'm on prednisolone/steroids for miscarriage prevention. I also took it in the third trimester for my dd many years ago for acid reflux.

@Cakeorchocolate I have been on them since first trimester currently 39+ 2 and still on them. I did query this with the GO but they advised it's perfectly fine or they wouldn't prescribe- I have tried a few times to now take them but then I am extremely sick from the acid so I figure that it's better to take them than have no food or fluid in me.

Trust me, take it. I left it till the 3rd trimester and I was so miserable that I definitely should have taken it sooner. I was in tears on the phone to my GP while he prescribed it from the (more than) discomfort the acid was causing me. Don't suffer for no reason.
