Hello guys, has anyone ever used Concepto clinic for a nipt test ? (harmony test) It says it’s £159 and normally it’s like £400.
just seems to good to be true. Anyone ever used them any advice would be great.
I had one for my first baby so I’m just doing one straightaway for piece of mind.
many thanks

I went there today for a NIPT test and all seems legit you get you results back in 3-5 working days.

@Brambleblues looking at them also, but worried as I can’t find a single review! They don’t offer Harmony though, theirs is Illumina (I emailed them as I couldn’t find Harmony anywhere on their site, only in the Google results). @maisiedais how far along are you? Could you let us know once you get the results how long it took to get them? And which branch did you go to?

Brambleblues · 31/03/2023 14:58

Oh did you which branch did you use ? So it tests for Down’s syndrome, Edwards and another one is that right ? Thank you for you reply handy to know x

Yes that what I was worried about as couldn’t find any reviews either. I would be going to the one in Croydon its my closest. So I think it tests for all the same things like Down’s syndrome and Edwards like the harmony. Just seems so much cheaper x

sorry for the late reply - I just had my results back today as 'low risk' which I'm no further forward than I was with the NHS. I thought I would get a more detailed ratio which was not the case. I had friends who have done the NIPT test and got a deep ratio ie 1:10000. If anything it's cause more worry but might just be the hormones.
I went to Concpto in Brentwood. My results came back pretty quick (3 working days).

Whentwobecomesthree · 04/04/2023 15:15

@maisiedais What in particular are you worried about. A low risk result on an nipt test is great news.

I've had both Harmony and SAFE NIPT tests (in diff pregnancies) and both just give low risk results. When you look into the report of what that means with SAFE it is less than 1 in 100,000 with Harmony it's less than 1 in 10,000. The reports are not more specific than that.

A low risk result is good you can be very confident. Particularly if you are worried about Down Syndrome.

maisiedais · 04/04/2023 15:37

Thank you for your reply.. I needed to read that. I think the hormones have over taken! The letter I received from the NHS said I had 1:774 chance for DS all be it classed as low risk I wondered where the random number stemmed from... this is my first pregnancy and are just getting to understand what everything means so apologies to sounds over dramatic. I was expecting to see the ratio numbers written out on the results page but maybe that's not right in all cases.

Whentwobecomesthree · 04/04/2023 16:17

I really think you have nothing at all to be worried about. 1 in 744 as a result alone is 0.13 % chance and that's before you've had the low risk NIPT which is much more accurate. I know it's super stressful but with these test results, and I am assuming clear scans, then everything is fine.

Whentwobecomesthree · 04/04/2023 16:22

And believe me I know where you are coming from. Hang in there, you are ticking off these big important testing milestones! Try and enjoy it :)

Brambleblues · 04/04/2023 19:52

That’s fantastic news like the other lady said low risk is what we all want to hear. However i underhand where you are coming from with worry.
How the lady explained it to me when I went for a harmony test a couple of years ago was like a raffle. So in your case you have 774 raffles tickets where you will win a sports car and amongst that 774 was 1 boogie prize you would be pretty confident that you would pick a ticket with a sports car. And now being low risk with the nipt
test would be even more chance . Hope this makes sense and you don’t think I’m mad 🤣as I found it quite reassuring x

Thanks ladies you've really put my mind at rest.. not having the knowledge of knowing what these tests actually mean these platforms are a blessing. Have a lovely evening xx
