Anterior placenta

Hello
First pregnancy here,
I will be 21 weeks on Friday. I was told on Monday during my scan I have an anterior placenta. Just wondering when people with an anterior placenta felt any movement. Haven't felt any yet.
Thank you

Hello! Fellow anterior placenta here and also my first. I felt nothing until about 21+4 when all of a sudden I started getting full on kicks that I could see on my belly. At first tended to only feel it on the sides I assume due to the placement of my placenta but now I’m 23 weeks and she’s having a party in there. Never had the flutters/butterfly stage though. Fingers crossed for you that you feel something soon!

Didn't feel Dc for certain till past 21 weeks - and it was a boot in the bladder!

allgoodthings84 · 29/03/2023 21:43

With my first I can’t remember exactly when but know it was after my 20 weeks scan as I told the sonographer I couldn’t and hadn’t felt a thing as I watched baby boot me from the inside in the scan

With this one I’m now 18+4 and just started feeling little gentle kicks down low or above my placenta. My anterior placenta is right at the front so can only feel what happens under and above it which isn’t loads as she mostly kicks into the placenta. I saw her doing it on my scan at 17 weeks and again couldn’t feel a thing as she was only kicking into the placenta. I only know I’m feeling baby for sure because it’s not my first so recognise the feeling. With my first I didn’t realise it was baby at first until they were very very obvious kicks.

Apparently I had this with my 2nd (didn't with 1st) felt no difference in movements whatsoever though- still regular and strong :) xx

Tinylove23 · 29/03/2023 21:52

18 weeks ish. Felt little twinges.

HappyMouse · 29/03/2023 21:53

22 weeks :)

littlepeanuthopes · 29/03/2023 21:54

Exactly the same as @Baker18 🥰
First pregnancy, anterior placenta! Felt movement at around 22+5 and I'm 23+6 now. Skipped the flutter stage too and when it started it was amazing! Also finding that it's mainly in the sides but every now and again in the middle too ❤️💙 worth the wait x

Disneyforaweek · 29/03/2023 21:54

I had an anterior placement and I don't think I really felt any movements til 24 weeks ish and they were quite 'weak' movements, as if they were muffled. Once baby was bigger when I was further along I could feel movements fine ☺️

Disneyforaweek · 29/03/2023 21:54

Placenta! Not placement

Junebug22 · 29/03/2023 22:31

I didn’t feel anything the whole time! Other than the pain of his foot in my ribs for the last 3 months 😂I did feel a little bit like I was missing out on something and it was a bit of a shame my husband never got to feel him move either. But in the grand scheme of things it wasn’t a big deal really.

AlishaLouise · 29/03/2023 22:42

I posted here a few days ago asking the same question and since then i'm feeling more movement and definite kicks, i'm 20 weeks 4 days. I would say the twinges started at 18 weeks but still really not noticeable and weren't the "flutters" that I had with my DC1.

Did they tell you the exact location of the placenta? Mine is high anterior and was told i'd feel all movement low down, which is very much the case at the moment!

I'm sure the movements and kicks will come in full force over the next few weeks. Even days, it happens out of nowhere!

ChloeN · 29/03/2023 22:52

Kicks started at 21 weeks exactly, they seemed to come out of nowhere! I’d just had the fish swimming/flutterings randomly before that xx

Thank you

Fingers crossed I feel something soon! Xx

@AlishaLouise

They just said placenta was right at the front but they weren't worried as not blocking the birth canal x

I felt the first proper movement the day after my 20 week scan.

Awkwardusername · 30/03/2023 13:53

I didn’t feel anything definite until 24ish weeks but at that point I realised I’d been feeling it for a few weeks, I just hadn’t realised what it was (certainly didn’t feel like butterflies - more like a fart bubble!)

foreverwingingitx · 30/03/2023 14:30

First pregnancy here, anterior placenta and currently 23+3!

Have been feeling "flutters/kicks" since last Sunday, getting a little bit stronger each day ☺️

Bibijuju · 30/03/2023 15:34

I felt my first proper kick at 19 weeks with DS and consistent movement from 22 weeks - low down kicks/flutters. I was about 30 weeks before I could actually see movement on the outside though and even then it wasn’t very often!
Best thing I did was concentrate on DS own unique pattern of movement and not overthink it too much

littlepeanuthopes · 24/05/2023 21:19

23/24 weeks for me and gradually kept increasing :)

littlepeanuthopes · 24/05/2025 21:53

I did with my first and started feeling movement around 22 weeks! Xx
