Hi everyone,

I am looking for a little bit of reassurance if someone can help. I found out I was pregnant last Thursday but haven't had many symptoms since. I have felt more tired/lacked any energy (especially when it gets to about 5pm and then I can't move off the sofa and fall asleep at about 9:30) but I have also given up caffeine since I found out so not sure if that's partly why, I am weeing more often, have sore boobs (but not as bad as they were a week before I found out), the odd tinge at the bottom of my stomach (more on the right side) and some bloating after I eat and bubbling in my stomach. I sneezed yesterday and felt a fullness/sharp tinge on my right hand side for about 4 seconds, and when I googled this it said it could be round ligament which is normal. So I guess I have some symptoms, but no sickness other than the odd time I eat I may feel a bit bleurgh. I feel like we're taught that everyone feels sick in early pregnancy and now the fact I don't I am fearful something is wrong.

I'm trying to remain positive as my clearblue was 2-3 weeks on Thursday and since yesterday has been 3+ weeks so looks like my HCG is rising, but I am just worried I don't really have any strong symptoms and I was wondering if this is more common than we think? It's my first pregnancy and I have so much anxiety as all I see is about miscarriage, no heartbeat or a blighted ovum and focusing on every little thing! My doctor told me she had no sickness in either pregnancy and not really any symptoms, but don't know if she was just telling me that to help!

Any help would be appreciated!

That's totally normal. Sore boobs come and go, all symptoms come and go. Best just to sit back and enjoy the ride.

TMI2000 · 29/03/2023 12:19

Hiya! It's very common to experience minimal/fluctuating symptoms. Both my mum and close friend have said with their pregnancies they would never had guessed they were pregnant if it weren't for the missed period and odd cramp here and there! Try not to worry, if there is no blood than lack of symptoms could just be a blessing!

fairgame84 · 29/03/2023 12:20

I didn't have any symptoms at all with DS until I was 10 weeks. I didn't even think to do a test until I was 8 weeks.
With DD i had HG from 6 weeks. It was awful.
Enjoy it while it lasts!

incitethismeetingtorebellion · 29/03/2023 12:24

My first pregnancy I had morning sickness for about 2 weeks. It disappeared completely at 6 weeks and other than a hatred of garlic and love of cheese on crumpets I didn't have any other symptoms for the whole pregnancy.

littlegingerone · 29/03/2023 12:48

I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and feeling exactly the same! Slightly sore boobs when I take my bra off at night, bit more tired/sleepy at night but even that has been a bit better this last week. Slight bloating and the occasional cramp or niggle. We have a private scan booked in 2 weeks so just having to sit tight until then and hope all is OK but, I have looked around a lot and it seems so different for different people and more common than you realise that lots of people have no symptoms so doesn't necessarily mean we have anything to worry about! Good luck with everything 😊

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 29/03/2023 13:02

I am 5 weeks and feel the same apart from the bloating is on another level to anything if had before. This is my second pregnancy and on my first pregnancy which was successful I didn't have any sickness symptoms until around 7 to 8 weeks and it wasn't daily until around 9 weeks. Sounds like everything is progressing fine to me x

Moriquendi · 29/03/2023 13:54

I had no symptoms at all through the whole of my first pregnancy - other than the bump appearing! No nausea, sore boobs, bloating etc. I was so relieved at the 12 week scan when the baby appeared on the screen, I’d half convinced myself that there must have been some mistake as I didn’t feel pregnant at all. Enjoyed it! It’s much preferable to throwing up every day!

Number1number2 · 29/03/2023 14:13

OP you've said you've had no symptoms and then listed a load of symptoms!

Not everyone get the classic 'morning sickness' if that's the symptom you're worried about, however it's still early for you and it might not kick in until 7/8 weeks so try not to worry!

Deedee87 · 29/03/2023 14:19

i never had obvious symptoms until some time in the second trimester. I remember being worried because I had miscarried and I had more symptoms with that one..! I kept trying to force myself to feel symptoms haha.
the only symptoms I had early on with my LO was sneezing lol (I get this weird hormonal sneezing thing and I was sneezing the wrong time of cycle lol and that’s how I knew to test 😝)
i wanted to feel sick for reassurance and then I did and wished I didn’t feel sick lol

That is reassuring to hear! I should probably just consider myself lucky!

Thank you so much, that's really reassuring! I guess I have to consider myself lucky haha. I feel like we're just engrained to believe that everyone should feel/be sick! x

This is exactly how I feel! I am waking up every day thinking am I actually pregnant? Which is where the anxiety comes from because I guess our brain isn't wired to just think positively that we've managed to scathe getting any symptoms! xx

Sounds really normal? In the past you probably wouldn't have even known you were pregnant yet. I didn't get any 'symptoms' until about 8 or 9 weeks.

You're right! I guess i'm questioning my symptoms cause I don't have the "nausea go to symptom" and think my tiredness could now be giving up caffeine after 7 years of having it every day haha. I shall just try and think i'm lucky! xx

And I never felt nauseous during pregnancy. My worst symptom was a permanently blocked nose which initially I put down to hay fever.

Yup and I also have irregular periods so I wouldn't of usually checked early on, it was only cause I got it in my head I just thought i'd do one to see a negative and was positive!

OP posts:
RidingMyBike · 29/03/2023 16:24

Yes, I was the same re irregular periods. I think I didn't test until about 7 weeks in the end.

MadameOvary81 · 29/03/2023 16:34

Don't worry, OP. I never had a single symptom, not even the common ones like nausea and exhaustion. Only at the end did I start to get heartburn. I didn't feel remotely pregnant until the bump appeared and baby started to move....then it felt real. I have PCOS and ,for the first time in my life, I actually felt normal. I felt like a million dollars during my pregnancy. lol

Gt1986 · 29/03/2023 16:36

Hiya 😊, my symptoms are similar to yours! I'm a worrier so have booked a private scan in for next weekend just to see if all is OK, as I am feeling relatively 'normal' on the grand scale of symptoms! I do fear a sudden onslaught however due to this 😂

I am debating a private scan but thinking I may wait until 8 or 9 weeks because I know they can't see much before then and have seen some people get misdiagnosed with a blighted ovum but will see if I manage to wait that long! It's so funny how our brains make us think we should feel absoloutely terrible haha. Totally me too, I have had the odd moment I haven't felt sick but have maybe not liked the taste of my breakfast or just felt a bit "off" and wondering if it's a warning for whats to come!

Gt1986 · 29/03/2023 17:04

@EllieJade95 I'll be 8 +1 when we go for the scan so should see a little dot and a heartbeat, fingers crossed you don't get an onslaught 🤞🤞
