Did anyone else have their first pregnancy after 40?

Hello. I am 41 and I just got a BFP today. This is the first time I've ever been pregnant. I am very happy about it, but also cautious as it's early on and I'm older. I just wanted to ask if there are any other mothers who had their first pregnancy (and hopefully went on to have a have a healthy baby) after 40 and how was it for you?

Yes, me! - first and only pregnancy at 40, baby born just before my 41st birthday. Straightforward pregnancy and textbook labour. I have several friends who have had babies aged 40-43. Congratulations!

Yes me - now have a 3 year old and it was all pretty straightforward.
now I would like another though and not find it easy to get pregnant / likely it will not happen.
congratulations! I love being a mum and being older has really made me appreciate it

My son was born 1 days after my 43rd birthday. Pregnancy was very plain sailing, birth was fairly straightforward, it was the conception bit that I struggled with, so well done you. Congratulations.

He’s 6 now and I feel just the right age to be his Mum.

I’m intrigued that you seem to be asking this question as if women over 40 having first babies is some sort of incredibly rare thing. It is very very common these days. Half of my NCT group were over 40.
