Can’t find babies head?!

I am 36 weeks today and a week ago a scan showed baby was breech. Since then the baby seems to have continued to change position quite a lot but due to a high anterior placenta I can only really feel movements in certain areas and it’s really hard to then guess what any changes actually could mean. The baby does seem to have become big enough this week however that I can feel its body curled up a lot of the time, but when I try to identify a head - no luck! I literally cannot identify anything at either end of the body. Now, obviously I know my baby still has its head ☺️ but can someone please reassure me that this is in some way normal - to really struggle to find it I mean. I don’t think it was ever obvious as midwife didn’t actually guess breech before the scan she just said she wanted to check. Also, we don’t know what we are having which is why I keep saying ‘the baby’. It is beginning to feel so strange not knowing if it’s a girl or a boy, but not quite as strange as struggling to locate it’s head.

I was never much good at identifying what was what in either of my pregnancies. Once I went to an appointment and said ‘I think her head is there’ and midwife informed me it was her bottom. Felt a bit daft. I was just happy to feel movements tbh.

I could never determine where the head was, the community midwife sometimes struggled to determine head vs bum but my baby was firmly head down in the pelvis from 34/35 weeks, was that low they couldn’t scan it as part of growth scans and actually joked it was almost falling out and stayed there until I was induced and baby made an appearance

Hahahaa

I done this once when expecting my first DC

The only time I could tell was when very large DC2 was transverse and my bump looked like Mickey Mouse with a head and a bum sticking out on either side at the top.

Still couldn't have told you which was which.

With breech ds it felt like I had a football under my ribs with the head down ones it wasn't anywhere near as uncomfortable.
