Postpartum hemorrhage

Hi all,

I had a postpartum hemorrhage with my second labour, I'm currently 31 weeks with my 3rd baby and concerned about having another one as I know it's more likely. Was wondering if the people that had a postpartum hemorrhage went on to have a normal labour for their next or had another PPH and was it worse or better? Thank you

Hello! I had a PPH with my first and my second was totally fine! I was monitored very well throughout and after ( I did have to stay in after to make sure all was ok but then this may be different for each person) I'm due with my 3rd in 6 weeks and I have to admit I am very nervous of it happening again!

No advice sorry but just wanted to bump for more replies. In the same situation, 22 weeks with second baby after a PPH and traumatic labour with first.

Feeling incredibly nervous about it all, was considering an elective c section but I know that doesn't guarantee I won't have another pph!

I had one with my first but did not with my second. With second dc though i did have to be consultant led, but birth was absolutely fine and so much better than first dc.

PPH with 2, but the second time they were obviously aware it was more likely and wasn't half as dramatic. 1.75l first time, 2l second time. Either way you'll be fine and they'll be aware!

Lost 3.5l with DC1. Less than 500ml each time with DC2,3&4

Aww thank you all so much for your replies they make me feel so much better ❤️ I've been so nervous. Really appreciate you taking the time to reply. I'm glad mostly they went well after your first PPH. I have also been on consultant led care so hopefully If I do haemorrhage it will be less traumatic as they will be ready xx
