Been in a lot of pain and need to wee constantly for 24 hours, brought a sample to the doctor but no infection detected. Has anyone experienced this at all? I'm 18 weeks. Not sure what to do next!

Go to the chemist's and speak to the pharmacist who may well sell you some potassium citrate to neutralise the urine.

Just had the same thing at 7 weeks. Frustrtaing I know! The bladder pain and wee-ing turned into cystitis about a week later. I managed to avoid taking anti-biotics by staying at home and resting for 2 days, drinking lots of cranberry juice. In fact I've stocked up on cranberry juice so that I don't get it again! I also avoided citrus and sugar for a few days which is supposed to help reduce the acidity of your pee. Worked for me. HTH

Oh you poor thing. Can totally sympathise as last week, at 12 wks, my bladder went into, whats termed as, 'retention'. Basically I desperately had the urge to wee with a v.full bladder but unable to pass anything. Was in a lot of pain. Went to the GP & upon advice from hospital consultant fitted with a catheter. Not the most dignified thing but well worth the sheer relief. Had it removed 48hrs later but same thing happened again in the night. Had catheter re-fitted & removed again on Tues. Fingers crossed have now got through 2 nights now wee-ing ok. Consultant recommended I sleep on tummy so not sure if its that that's helped or the fact the womb is now starting to move into my pelvis ? I didn't have an infection. Fibroid noted in 12 wk scan but position of this shoudn't have caused the prob. Do go back to your GP and/or call your out-of-hours team if really painful at night. There really is nothing worse! good luck.
