I am 37 weeks pregnant and last week i noticed i had increased discharge the dr prescribed me a thrush pessary but i dont think i put it in far enough. I went to maternity triage on thursday and they gave me another pessary to do at home. Its now saturday and i still have a load of white discharge coming out, It seems to be worse not better. Ive never had thrush before or used a pessary How long does it usually take for things to clear up?

In pregnancy the pessary didn’t work for me - I had to use the internal cream or gel - I think it worked as it’s not as dry. I found the pessary kept coming out in a whole clump rather than nicely dissolving and working. Maybe try the gel/cream instead as it should have worked by now.

I would but you arent supposed to use an applicator during pregnancy so i dont know how i would use the gel. Ive tried external cream as well but its inside thats the problem.

im going to phone maternity triage tomorrow about it because ive had enough

I had the most horrific thrush throughout my pregnancy with DD. I had so many pessaries, the only thing that cured it was baby being born. The GP prescribed a 10 day course of pessaries a few times. You have my sympathy, it is the pits.

I used the applicator with no issue as agreed by my GP. Maybe ask for advice if you want reassurance before using. The external cream
i tried first with the pessary also did nothing.
