My mum bled monthly until about 4/5 months when pregnant so didn’t know she was. I bled a lot and miscarried one twin (I didn’t know I was pregnant with twins until then). There is just no way of knowing which makes it really stressful. The early weeks can be mentally tough. Take reassurance that it has stopped though and it looks quite watery.

I bled at 6/7 weeks and all was fine in the end but very scary at the time. I was lucky enough to see epu that day and the doctor said rest as much as possible.

Kelbabyno2 · 25/03/2023 10:44

Hey lovely I had exactly the same thing2 weeks ago and when I showed the nurse at the EPU I was told because it looks watery and no sign of clots it's probably just implantation bleeding. Try to not worry too much (I know it's hard, I was worried sick), call EPU and tell them what's happening and hopefully they will book you in for a scan x

Kelbabyno2 · 25/03/2023 10:45

Sorry just reread you have EPU visit booked in, good luck I have everything crossed for you xx

Thank you for your messages- ive had no further bleeding since wiping this morning so hoping its a good sign but still feel like maybe its not :( xxx

I hope you continue to have a healthy pregnancy. I had a full blown period when pregnant with my son. All went smoothly after that.

TheShellBeach · 25/03/2023 17:05

I went through the same, OP, and she's a happy and healthy adult now.
Good luck with the scan.

I had bleeding last night and this morning, 9 weeks. Went to epas for a scan and was convinced I’d lost the baby but there it was wriggling and saw the heartbeat. No cause found for the bleeding and it’s now stopped. They said it’s very common in early pregnancy

HelenaHurricane · 25/03/2023 17:29

I also had this at 10 weeks with dc1 and 6 weeks with dc2. Both times all was fine, but it is horribly scary!

thatheavyperson · 25/03/2023 20:09

I had this a couple of times in the early weeks of my first pregnancy, and everything was fine.

It's always best to get it checked out, but I'd try and just put it out of your mind until you find out for sure (A LOT easier said than done, I know!)

Chip131 · 25/03/2023 20:22

Thanks all, keeping everything crossed but feeling very low and anxious about it all xxxxxxx

Handhold, had similar further along the past few days and brown spotting at the stage you are. It’s terrifying but you’ve done the right thing speaking to a doc and hopefully the EPU appointment will bring good news. Positive story, I’m a bit further along than you (14 weeks) and gushed red blood yesterday, was at a&e convinced I was miscarrying (it wasn’t a small amount of blood 😭) and found the EPU today so helpful and it was good news and all is well. Think it happens more than you’d think but doesn’t make it less terrifying! X

I bled like this (actually a bit more) and it continued randomly throughout my pregnancy. I even had some excuciating pain around 8 weeks. Bleeding was worse after i had a bowel movement. Dr said some women just bleed. My baby is 9 weeks now born 2 weeks early :)

Just to update this thread as I know I was frantically looking for positive outcomes to what I experienced - I had a scan tuesday and all was well, baby even had a little heartbeat. They couldn't see any sign of where the bleed came from xxx
