Sheffield or Chesterfield?

On Monday I have my 8 week midwife appointment. I need to choose which maternity ward I want to use so stuck between Sheffield ad Chesterfield. Both about the same distance away. I've heard good things about Chesterfield but I work at a local school and don't want to run into any of my students parents! Heard mixed things about Sheffield. Any opinions based on experience I'd be grateful :) thanks!

Hi! I’ve recently given birth for the 4th time at Jessops. I had a similar decision to make as I’ve recently heard less than good things about Jessops but I did decide to stick with them as my last birth was just as good as my previous 3.
I’ve always had a really good experience there and received brilliant ante & post natal care.

I have heard good things about Calow but no first hand experience.

I'm due to give birth at Chesterfield this June and so far they have been very thorough at my appointments. I'm struggling with acid reflux and my doctor wouldn't provide a medicine that is safe in pregnancy according to the NHS (omeprazole). My midwife spoke to the hospital during my appointment with her and I was given the medicine by the hospital the same day. Can't fault them so far.

I was also in the same situation as you, I chose Chesterfield purely based on hearing experiences from friends/ others. I am due in the next few weeks and so far only really had a positive experience with both midwife base and Calow.

Third baby at chesterfield. Currently here trying to induce this one out, building wise newer cleaner and quieter! Staffwise loads happier and cant do enough for u. Car parking has got worse over the years and clinics seem to be overrun and lengthy but deffo worth it! Not met one person who doesnt look happy in there job
still have ny sheffield community midwife but everything is led by chesterfield bloods etc
be aware u may need to come to calow hosp for certain things they wnt let sheffield midwifes do it on their behalf...
