Bleeding & clots but still a heartbeat? TW Photo

Hi ladies. This morning I woke early hours with a heavy bleed, it continued for a few hours to which I then passed a clot (photo attached sorry TMI) I have a history of recurrent miscarriage. This is my 5th pregnancy with no living children. I was positive this was the start of a MC, due to the obvious so contacted my EPU. They booked me in for an emergency scan which by a MIRACLE they found a heart beat, baby is where it should be and measuring at 6 weeks (2 days earlier than expected) I was absolutely gobsmacked. They couldn’t find a reason for the bleeding, and told me just to rest. I know the heartbeat is a positive, but with my history I still feel I’m just waiting for the worst. The bleeding has calmed down since. Has anyone has this and a successful pregnancy ? TIA

I have a history of recurrent miscarriage. When I was 7 weeks into this pregnancy I had a catastrophic bleed. My clots (many) were significantly bigger than that clot.

All night when I sat down on the toilet blood gushed out of me like wee. You could hear it pouring out. Was really traumatic.

Went to the clinic for a scan two days later expecting to hear about miscarriage management (I'd have IVF) and lo and behold baby was there (actually there were two but that was unrelated and unexpected!). I had the exact same thing happen at 9 weeks again, same outcome.

Currently pregnant with healthy twins at 17+1. So bleeding doesn't necessarily mean the end. Hope it works out well for you, sorry you're going through all the stress.

I had a huge bleed, was like a tap. Awful. Was convinced it was over. Small clots, similar to that one. Scanned a few days later. All was fine. That baby is going to be 4 in July.

I had a very heavy bleed later at 20 weeks. There was so much blood I thought I must have miscarried but all was well. They diagnosed me with cervical ectophy and said it was my Cervix bleeding not the baby and that it could happen again at any time but luckily it didn't happen again. I also had some small clots x

I had a huge bleed and was sure I'd miscarried at 5 weeks (had had mc in previous pregnancy at 10 weeks). There was a heartbeat, they told me to avoid exercise so I avoided that for the whole pregnancy , baby is now 2 and well. Maybe I lost a twin, will never know. All best wishes.

@IsAGirlMumma @Rtmhwales @Tryingtoconceivenumber2 @hggfff thank you so much ladies. That is reassuring. With your bleeds did they come and go? I’ve gone hours with nothing at all, but now brown bleeding has started up again. Despite seeing that heartbeat earlier, I’m already getting anxious again :( xx
