Can’t take much more - morning sickness

I’m currently 7weeks 2days pregnant. I don’t know how much more I can take. From morning to night time I feel so sick. I cant function. I have two children already who are 3 and 5 so literally have no option but to get up early and try to get on with it but at the moment it’s so bad I’m considering a termination. The doctor gave me some cyziline which I started taking yesterday but it’s not helped at all. I just don’t know how I’m going to get through the next few weeks.

HG is the worst I had it with both of mine in and out of hospital on drips, medication etc
one thing that did help Pepsi/coke I found this out when I was about 12 weeks with my son and was still being so sick feeling like death but started intensively craving coke
It settled my stomach like my body knew what I needed
I bought decaffeinated coke and had to have it every day as soon as I awoke
It didn't cure it but it made it a bit more bearable along with medication

I'm currently 11 weeks and felt much the same at 7 weeks, the sickness was so bad some days i did consider termination. I ended up on prochlorperazine and promethazine which worked for me. It didn't always stop all the nausea but it was enough for me to get Into work and struggle through the day. I have suddenly started feeling better so I'm hoping it is over Grin

@courtney251 how are you now? Hope things have improved.

@courtney251 I hate reviving old threads but desperate to hear it got easier from someone? 😩 I am struggling so bad at 6 weeks pregnant to look after my two children.

I’m ringing the doctors in the morning for some tablets but not getting my hopes up that they’ll be a miracle cure. My youngest is 12 months and quite honestly I think he would crawl back up in to my uterus if he could, he’s obsessed with me. I feel awful that I can’t give him as much attention as before.

When I was pregnant with him my eldest was 3.5 and also started nursery so I had some respite. My partner also only worked until as late as midday so totally took over for a few hours in the afternoons. Things are a lot different now.

Please if you’re about on mumsnet still did it get easier at all? I feel exactly how you did. Regretting ever getting pregnant, sick multiple times a day, even feeling nauseous in the middle of the night it’s truly dreadful.

Hi lovely,

I was prescribed anti sickness tablets called Xonvea and they saved me!!! Please ring your doctor and insist you get them. They are fine to take. I would not have coped without them!!! I took them up until 17 weeks and by then the sickness had gone away so I didn’t have to take them any more. I did try a few different medications before that but none worked. Please don’t think you have to power through this there is medication to help. My daughter is now 11 weeks and she’s perfect.

@courtney251 sorry I know this was a while ago but with you taking xonvea everyday till 17 weeks did the tiredness ease? And did you ever skip taking it if you felt moderately ok?x

coco111 · 20/08/2024 14:19

Hey! I stopped taking them completely at 20 weeks. Before then I tried a few times but the sickness just came straight back. The tiredness did ease for me at 20 weeks also. I felt fine then until 40 weeks hope you're okay. I know how horrible it is.
