Hi,

During the week,I usually get 6 hours of sleep per night. With the weekend sleep accounted for, my average is over 7 hours . Anyone else have a sleep pattern like this and get pregnant? I do everything else as much as I can to help with fertility.

Thanks

Lots of second time parents will get far less than 6 hours.

Hey, I doubt sleep is a major factor as I have a 1 year old and pregnant with 2nd. Of course a healthy lifestyle helps but as long as you feel "rested" I wouldn't worry too much.
Best of luck x

I think I conceived dc2 and dc3 on an average of around 4 hours a night! You'll be fine.

Lol, yes, most parents 1+ existing children.

Hahah, yes . My second dc didn’t sleep for years ….. constant waking (good routine etc etc etc ) and I survived on 4 hours or 5 broken hours for years which was absolutely horrendous tbh but got pregnant with the 3rd very quickly . We were late 20’s , v early 30’s from first child to third so maybe that helped too , I don’t know but yes so many parents get way less sleep than 6 hours and conceive no problem.

Depends on your age I would imagine, your hormones definitely need more help in your late 30s and sleep helps with hormone balance and production.more sleep also counteracts the negative impact of stress on your body so can only be a good thing pre ttc

Yes I would have been getting less sleep than this when we conceived DC2. I was taking pre conceive supplements and eating well so that might have helped

Owmyfoot · 24/03/2023 17:33

I think you have to do more than sleep, OP.

hoophoophooray · 24/03/2023 17:43

If you are sleeping, you are doing it wrong, I think...

My third was conceived on about 4 hours a night in 2 x 2 hour chunks.
