First trimester - completely exhausted

As the title says. Anyone else? Can’t really remember this with first pregnancy but it was lockdown so nowhere to go/nothing to do anyway! But I can barely get up to make food and eat it before I need to lie down again. Feel a bit breathless, legs heavy. Thankfully WFH so my complete inability to work isn’t apparent yet, but I can’t go on like this. Is this normal?! About 7-8 weeks pregnant.

Totally normal.

I was like this. My DGM told me about when she was pregnant and fell asleep holding a massive tea caddy. Eat nourishing food and rest lots, you're growing a new internal organ and a person, it can be hard on your body.

Yes I had it until the placenta took over at 14weeks. I didn’t have heavy legs, but just extreme exhaustion, nausea, sickness, etc. It was horrible. I had it twice in 2022 since my first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage near the end of 1st trimester. I’ve managed to blank some of that out of my memory now.

Thanks for reassurance and kindness. I suppose it’s good to know it’s normal - though I kind of hoped it wasn’t so I can get some drugs or something! (Waiting on blood results currently, I wondered if it might be anaemia but perhaps just regular old pregnancy...) Just feel so shaky and incompetent!

I also had this. I was surprised at how horrid the fatigue was. Wasn't just a "I need a nap" tired - my body felt like it was made of lead. Felt like I was dragging it around with me! Hope you feel better soon x

yes 1st trimester is exhausting - I slept alot. When you already have a DC its even more difficult.

Hopefully the 2nd trimester energy will be along soon.
